start to look from up through down.

(bkz: kaygusuz abdal)

i love this. deer is also a mythic animal in hungarian traditions!
some people seem to like to kill it & be proud of it.

i dont know why hungarian people doesnt have any idea from their origin. i had some hungarian friends one year ago. they dont have any idea about "huns", or nomadic tribes or attila, or turks, or shamans, anything. they only know ottomans. thats shame. your country hide truths from you. hungarians are desdencdants of huns, as we know huns are mixed nomadic tribe come from central asia, and also include turks(and also arpats, turkic tribe from caucauss). so hungarians are relatives of turks. once they were christianized they forgot everything. and today they hate turks, and even they lost their real identity. even your country name is turkic (ten arrow-on gon)[link]

so, too many things in turkish and hungarian folklore are the same or similar. and its not because of ottomans, before ottomans. its come from asia.

i know exactly what you're talking about, but you don't have to condemn all hungarians by your friends, some of us are well aware of our common ancestry with huns, despite all the effort of the powerful opressors and greedy neighbors we've ever had. now the problem roots in some of our best heads too, since lying about our history is going on for some 150 years. but it's not at all lost and i can happily tell you friend that the winds are changing!
i'd even say the people you've met were an exception, i can not imagine any hungarian without an idea of attila. we have a common origin mythology of huns and magyars that is well known, it's only that people do think "it's not scientific at all" (why should a mythology be?) and the highest scientific circles suggest that science contradicts hunnish descendance which is a plain lie. no one did ever prove that. but this was useful for our enemies to break our backs. this did not happen either!
also your impression of hungarians hating turks is false. ottomanic rule (and keeping it away from - ungrateful - europe for a hundred years) is not a pleasant memory obviously but we always had more problem with the "liberators". habsburgs, soviets... people do seem to stop by here for a while... but no, no, hungarians do not hate today's turks, especially for all the love and appreciation we're getting whenever we're stepping on your land! it really feels as cousins, they say, i've never been to türkiye, as for yet...
you have to understand it's a troubled past we have, and always the minds are opressed at first place! in this respect, today's money machine and pseudo independence might be the worst opressor so far. but there are some very positive tendencies so we may lift our heads up once again.

of course there are different thinking people, it should be.

youre at the gate of europe. everyone first knock your door. this is why hungarian people suffer too much. (your anthem is so sad, also). my hun friends doesnt like their country. they are complaining about sadness of people. i think country lost their dreams. related to this topic, i made a movie about "mankurt" legend. [link] this, tells what excatly happen to hungarian people. even head of new world order is hungarian (g. soros). this big guys control and manipulate people minds and changed everything in world, and also hungary since ww2.

do you know that first pan-turanist movement(a movement which claims unite all altaic people) begin in hungarian? [link]

but things has changed in time.

i am not supporter of nationalism and not supporter of any kind of racism. but of course i support to preserve cultural, traditional, historical identity of peoples. today, world is under thread of cultural imperialism. everyone is going to same. soon, we will loose our beautiful colors. this is what i dont want.

and before finish, i couldnt understand "and the highest scientific circles suggest that science contradicts hunnish descendance which is a plain lie. no one did ever prove that."
which scientific study proove that hungarians are not descendant of huns? i cannot accept that. even your language is uralic. where you come from? where have you been

that's what i've said, they never proved that.
they went a big round with the finno-ugrish thing. that's one thing i couldn't understand when i was 10, (and how right i was): what's a 10000+ year old supposed common ancestry have to do with a question of 9000 years later (hun-magyar)? the answer is: that's because magyar is sooo finno-ugric, while hun is sooo turkic, the people can't be any related. boom.
i can see the truth in finno ugric thing but i have a remark... take the languages of the indo-european family (which are, in addition, much closer to each other). now tell me a tale of portuguese-danish relations... finno-ugric marks are of ages before, and they're just simply applying it to something they shouldn't.
calling hun a turkic language is also blurring the image. that's mainly based on personal names used by huns which is a question of fashion not language. while mongolian and chinese archaeolinguists study magyar to understand hun better. mongolians are green jelaous for the tons of hun words ("unknown origin" in .hu textbooks) and grammar reserved in magyar. i could go on an on with the examples...

i am convinced that there's direct continuity of material culture and population with the huns (not the hunnish empire). i don't need a panturanism, really but hey there, cousin!

about the anthem, you'd say a sad anthem looks like this?

"O Lord, bless the nation of Hungary
With your grace and bounty
Extend over it your guarding arm
During strife with its enemies
Long torn by ill fate
Bring upon it a time of relief
This nation has suffered for all sins
Of the past and of the future!"

i'd say that's full of hope and confidence and lightheartedness.

also the music's been terribly slowed down during the decades for some reason, it used to be a verbunk-paced, animating song!

marseillaise is much sadder to me with all the cutting throats and "impure bloods"...
