Meet my new original character - golden lioness Leela!I tried to break some frames I had while creating this. As you can see anatomy is messed up, but I tried to make it fitting her - she is a cartoon character after all! And this girl has an unusual smile :>
I hope you like her!
Did this character design, as I got really tired of some big work that I am doing at the moment, really needed something to relax. And that's how she was born :> I have more sketches of her, and I will be uploading her reference sheet soon!
Clouds and grass were made with help of brushes, the plants I created myself

Lovely done! I really like her cheeky face and her design - especially the gradients on her legs fits her very well and I think her tiny paws are absolutely sweet<3 You did a great job with her fluffy fur on her chest and I like the style you chose to draw her.
The background suits her well too! The leafes behind her looks very lushly - fantastic job with the shading! I like it a lot<3

Would you believe that both plants of the background were done only on 1 layer for each? Bright blue sky was chosen because of her eyes, and green background really makes her golden colour stand out!

You really did that on just one layer? That's pretty cool to hear, so I like it even more because it looks fantastic that way

With the leaves, I would colour it in 1 solid colour, then lock the layer. Add many greenish (sometimes yellow/blue for the change) and blend it together - smudge tool proved really useful! Then with thinner brush add more details :> Playing around with brush settings, setting the drawing to overlay, multiply, color burn for shades. It wasn't meant to be anything too serious so I didn't even thing much while derping on a single layer. And then I was like OuO those leaves do look good actually! Still continued on single layer xD
Soon I will post a drawing, with super detailed background, where every single plant and tree was done on only 1 layer each! Now that will be more impressive! C: Just... need.. to ..finish the characters in it
