The scene looks really amazing, you've done a great job capturing it. The exposure is spot on. I like how the waves create a strong contrast to the otherwise grey and dark photo. It works really well! However, what I feel really makes this photo stand out are the two dogs. I could rest my eyes in the photo for a very long time, it would make an amazing print! I wish I could be there...

I definitely agree with you. It's rare to see a beach+sky shot in B&W - I think that it makes this piece very strong and very expressive. The different elements work wonderfully together here. nice work.

it seemed to suit it, sky was shot with a polarising filter so looks black, but it was pure blue

no it was mid afternoon, but a polarising filter and my wanting to convey a moody sky above layers of grey resulted in a dark image
