Description
This is a cross over of Super Smash Brothers and Shane Acker's 9. But instead of just slapping SSB stuff into 9, I wanted them to fit with the post apocalyptic theme. That's why the bomb-oms look like they were made by the Fabricator, some of the items have the Chancellor's symbol or stitches, and why the Smash ball is green instead of rainbow.9 and 1 have different colors to show that you can have different skins if two people both wanted to play the same character. All the characters would have a default skin along with a blue, green, and red for team battles. 4 and 3 could be like the ice climbers, 7 could be an awesome weapon wielding Sheik.
I wanted to make the background as close as possible to the movie, but I didn't look for good shots very well in the beginning, or simply didn't want to draw 1's stupid throne right. It's a stupid stupid throne. Other backgrounds that would be fun could be the Emptiness, the Library/Sanctuary, and the Factory. The Factory could even have the Fabricator in the background looking awesome and throwing stuff at you from time to time.
It's been a while since I put this much work into a picture. It is very tiring. I wish I could make complicated pictures with out it feeling too busy and messy. I got to watch 9 twice for the research of this movie, so that was fun. Now I need to go for a walk or take a nap.

I haven't seen this movie or played Brawl, so the full effect of the cross-over awesomeness is lost on me. The fact that I can recognize the Bunny Hood and that the Bob-Ombs are altered, despite my lack of familiarity, means that you did a very good job blending these two universes together. Kudos.
I won't bother going over the artwork because there's simply too much to talk about and it's all superb. I'll limit it to three comments:
1) You should do backgrounds and details more often. Everything in this pic is absolutely fantastic!
2) The steam/smoke/fog at the edges of the picture is very nice. Not sure if it's there as a side effect of the Party Balls or if it's something 9 has a lot of, but it looks very nice. It gives off a grim and mystical feel that goes well with 9's desperation and the idea of living dolls respectively.
3) Unfortunately, I'm not digging the white frame. It really clashes with the dark and grim imagery in the scene and makes the whole thing feel like a Polaroid rather than an intense battle. What's the reason behind the white frame, if you don't mind my asking?
Aside from that white frame, everything is spectacular! I hope this wins the contest.

You should really watch 9. It's very different. And there is a ton of back story to it that you can look up later that aren't entirely explained in the movie. Way detailed and way cool. Brawl is fun too, but what ever.
1. Detailed backgrounds are hard. So so so hard. I felt so dead after this picture. Satisfied, and it was worth it, but still dead. It's so hard.
2. I'm glad! It covers up a lot of my hard work. Which is both good and bad, cause it was ugly and full of mistakes, but I worked so hard on it. I'm still so dead I can't bring myself to do silly faces. Sob sob.
3. Frames are just a nice thing on pictures, I think. But I changed it to black, does that look better?

Wait, not in the movie? That's a bit of an odd move for a movie; was this movie based on a game or a comic or something, or did they just decide to detail some things that didn't get as much focus in the film? Just one more question: If the machines were able to wipe out humanity, why do they seem to have any trouble at all with rag dolls? Just wondering.
1) They're murder, but they're soooooooooo goooooooooooood! Maybe you can become a zombie. That way, you'll be able to draw beautiful scenes but not feel bad afterward...Well, you'll feel dead all the time, but at least how you feel after drawing pictures won't feel any different than usual.
2) I don't know what mistakes or ugliness you're talking about but for what it's worth, the steam/fog doesn't really obscure that much. Since it's see-through, I can still make out the walls and stuff that they're covering. It's kinda like having the best of both worlds: atmosphere AND seeing the details.
3) Black frame looks much better. In my opinion, no frame looks even better, but black frame is a step up from white frame. Goes with the mood of the scene much better.

Ah. I guess that makes sense. Well, everything except the whole "Robot apocalypse can't beat Winnie the Pooh" thing. Not being able to poison them is one thing, but how long does it take a robot empire to think of something like a chainsaw...or a boot really. Enough with the eccentric crows made of Tinker Toys. It's time to get down to business!

looks a bit scary and brutal....... I kind of don't like it. It feels weird that the last 9 "living" organisms in their world would spend their lives fighting each other when theres a huge mechanical monster trying to destroy all life.

Huh. Sounds kinda Lord of the Flies-ish. A small band of people have a mountain of troubles ahead of them, but they can't see past their own ambitions/stupidity to actually work together and make their own fragile lives that much worse because of it.
Granted, LoF is more complicated than that and I haven't actually seen 9. Just wanted to say that I liked this premise that you described...despite your not actually liking it.

its sort of like that, except its a bit small. most of the characters of the story work together to stay alive. Its quite a good scary movie for children. gives some great excitement, and very cool action scenes.
And the monsters are so cool. A kind of got scared on one of the monsters after seeing the movie. but i got over it.
