Ah, another adventurer come to defeat me and claim my treasure. You're all so amusing. You hear of the tales of the powerful dragon beneath the mountains, with the wealth of a kingdom around her. Wealth ripe for the taking by the one who vanquishes her, naturally. And the reports of those adventurers who were never seen again after venturing down into the golden depths never serve to temper your greed or foolhardiness. After all, you're braver, stronger, smarter. Those other adventurers were too reckless, or cowardly, or greedy. You'll finally be the one to defeat me and reap the rewards. And yet, you're all the same, really. The second you lay eyes upon me, your bravado vanishes. Your magical weapons are rendered worthless as your strength drains from your body. You're left stupefied before my majesty. Just a defenseless whelp at my mercy, like all those before you.

But you're different than your predecessors in one way, I must admit. Your gleaming, gilded armor certainly sets you apart. It's oddly foolish, walking into a dragon's lair adorned in gold like this. Were you hoping I would be distracted by the glittering sheen? Or that my lust for treasure would subtly sway my opinion towards your liking? But the risks far outweigh the benefits, one would realize. Perhaps my lust for gold would drive me to tear it off you, adding it to my hoard as you draw your last breath. But, maybe that was your goal. A death wish disguised as a valiant quest for treasure and glory. No matter what your expectations, though, your armor will not serve to protect you. But, it may lead to something much more... interesting.

You see, you mortals never stop to really think about why I collect gold. Most of you think I am nothing but a mindless beast, driven purely by avarice. But that could not be further from the truth. In fact, us dragons are very intelligent and magical beings. We contain within us greater potential for power than your greatest wizards. But unharnessed, our magic fades quickly, leaving us weak and ineffectual. A proper elemental channel is required for our magic to truly shine. An ocean dragon drawing power from a moat to enslave the castle within, a frost dragon turning a village into their playthings after the first snowfall, and, of course, a gold dragon surrounding themselves with treasure to become unparalleled in magic and power.

Your eyes grow wide with fear. Good. I would hate to have wasted my speech on one who did not understand. And now you're realizing the terrible predicament you've put yourself in. I'm sure if you still had the will to move, you would be fleeing in terror. But instead you stand transfixed by my gaze, unable to move a muscle. Utterly incapable of action. All those foolish adventurers find their downfall in my mesmerizing glare, their minds slowly fading into nothingness as my magic enthralls them. Terror becoming buried in the beautiful gleam, and then unearthed as blissful obedience. Their bodies and minds mere puppets to my whims. I could, of course, install them as guards, but I do love seeing the golden light blossoming in an adventurer's eyes as they join my throng. But for you, I have something special in store. Come closer, and let me make use of that armor.

Already so obedient. I hardly need to do this, but it would truly be a waste to pass up this opportunity. As I explained, we dragons channel power from our elements. But the magic does not stay with us. No, it seeps out, enchanting the items we use to draw out our abilities. Leaving them as powerful as any creation your wizards could come up with. And sometimes, it may be advantageous to inject even more magic into an object. All I have to do... Is touch your beautiful, gilded, helmet. Like so. It feels amazing, does it not? Your lovely helmet vibrating with my overwhelming power. Your polished breastplate shining even brighter with my effulgent energy. My hypnotic magic filling your armor, permeating every fiber of your being with deep, golden bliss. Your mind is nothing but another coin for me to flip between my claws. Your body, nothing but a soft pillow to stroke. You're mine, irrevocably mine. And it's the most wonderful feeling in the world. Normally, you would just become another servant. But I think you deserve a much more intimate position. Lie down in my lap, pet. Soon your mind will be as gold and gleaming as my hoard...

I'm back with another caption finally! This one featuring a dragon, which apparently people really like! Some of the concepts I thought up for this caption were surprisingly intriguing, so I might be doing more dragon captions in the near future. Also, the reason I put the text in the description is because, well, the font I decided to use looks really cool, but also might be hard to read (the v's look like b's). So I'm learning from my mistakes and putting the text somewhere easier to read, just in case.
