For those of you who are not 80's horror film junkies, Robert Englund's most famous role was Fred "Freddy" Kreuger in "The Nightmare on Elm Street".
If your'e confused about the first few panels, it's because Erik is cutting his skin off. If you haven't seen the movie too bad! I'm not giving away any (more) spoilers~
