The smexiness of this particularly annoying handsome mer aside, I really love your painterly style and how well the colours go together. I always have trouble picking colours that harmonise in the final art but you have done an excellent job with that and added some kind of mysteriousness to the whole piece. I like it a lot.

Regarding the colours; I almost always use the same for everything. I am very fond of them. They please and soothe me.
For picking colours you could use an aesthetically pleasing photograph ( of anything ) and pick your colours from it, that way you know they will mix well together.

I really like his expression here. You can really tell that he means business--It's the eyes. You've gotten them perfectly! (the golden color is also very beautiful) They really convey his determination well. I also love the background, too--it feels very serene and mystical.

wow those lighting effects (and coloring!!). I liked both versions, although this one a little more because the colors leave a great impact! I also love his pose (and his haaaaands) and his serious expression (maaan, isn't he hot?). Great work
