In Rosefield, people marry extremely early, it's a boring primal culture. In this image, Jane is rejecting every a proposal from a petty boy with his desperate mom. She's angry as these excessive proposals are extremely common, especially towards Jane as she is known by everyone in her town as the leader and guardian.

It would be an honor to learn from her and work with her, they preach.

Yet Jane refuses. If anyone pairs with her, she will lose the privileges she gained as they might learn her spells, and in turn, she will become less important as there are more people to do her valuable work. Not even her brother gets to learn from her.

Furthermore, she is too unbothered to live with anyone, let alone settle with them. She finds that most people would only further drag her from her goals.
