Oh, OH! I like this one! I like how you drew the plica semilunaris.Β Ponies are more like horse-human hybrids than anything else. The enormous craniums, the presence of the uvula, the gag reflex, the trichromatic vision. I wouldn't at all be surprised about the lack of functioning nictitating membranes.

Also to contradict your expression of a human-equine hybrid, it's actually an Equestrian or pony with human-like expression for this matter but i digress (Two sides of the same coin) anyways i'm actually glad Majorbrons is working on this comic (Still waiting on the animated series from Stable-tec studios) and yes i have heard and read the book at least once so in other words

What I meant is that anatomically and perhaps genetically, they're more similar to primates than they are to actual horses. They have a lot of subcutaneous tissue on their limbs (srsly, fat legs). They have the ability to vomit (baked bads, for example). They can see in far more than two colors, and use the entire range of color in their art and culture. They have a massive encephalization quotient. That is, their brain-to-body mass. Actual horses have teeny brains that are just three inches in diameter. Judging by their heads, a pony's brain could be 50% larger than a human's, which correlates well with what appears to be a high average intelligence among their species. Their behavior and psychology is slightly different from humans, however. They are highly communal, more prone to mass panic, and more likely to engage in self-effacement instead of deception.
