Now here’s a crossover that goes back to my early teen years! Just over a year before I even joined Deviant Art, to be exact! A few weeks after my fourteenth birthday (specifically Memorial Day 2011), I decided to try my hand at drawing a collage of my four most favorite characters from any medium, and I went with not only the top three characters I played most often in Super Smash Bros. Brawl for the Nintendo Wii, but also the newcomer favorite character at the time, Gumball Watterson! (Which, at the time, was really surprising given that, as I mentioned before, I thought his show would be terrible at first, only for it to be the biggest expectation exceeding explosion I ever witnessed in my life! Seriously, my entire worldview changed entirely [for the best, I should say!] once I actually gave it a chance five months prior) Having had little experience in drawing the game characters before and having no experience with Gumball before, I searched up some how to draw tutorials on YouTube and followed those as closely as I could to get said collage made. My fourteen-year-old self was amazed with how the result came out at the time, and I would like to show you how my art looked back then, but unfortunately, that collage has been lost for quite some time now, and I really don’t think it’ll be coming back to my anytime soon, unlike that Pikachu card I made at eight years old that I found and showed in 2017 as a way to archive my history.

But then I drew and released LGBT Pride with Sonic and Gumball 2019, which was the same concept as the pride drawing I did in 2016 but entirely different with how it came out. After I drew that and posted it for the fourth anniversary of me coming out as bisexual to anyone (let alone my small online following during that time), I thought about that collage I just talked about earlier and said to myself, “Hey, why don’t I do an entirely new drawing of that concept with the art skills I have now as a twenty-two-year-old where I don’t need how to draw tutorials to make them all look right?” And that’s exactly what I did here, and in the same chalky form as my Sonic and Gumball drawing from last week too (only slightly different in coloring and character art style from that, of course)!

Sonic the Hedgehog is owned by Sega and Sonic Team.
Pokémon and Kirby are owned by Nintendo (with Game Freak and The Pokémon Company also owning the former and HAL Laboratory also owning the latter).
The Amazing World of Gumball is owned by Warner Bros. and Cartoon Network.

*Artist’s note: I get a lot of people’s recent frustrations with Pokémon developer Game Freak (especially this week), but I kindly ask everybody here, regardless of what you think, to please keep this comment section much less about that and much more about the simple, fun little drawing I have above that I completed last week. I really don’t need an innocent little drawing like this to turn into a comment section war zone. It’s why I didn’t even mention A********n’s big debacle last month via Blizzard when I posted Fox and Crash: Bloodthirst, which was already done and ready for upload when that whole thing happened. Shady business decisions are shady business decisions, but that should not detract from the quality of the fan art that is put on display, much like how Warner Bros. keep their really old movies and shows (especially cartoons) intact for people to enjoy despite many of them being products of their time.
