Description Hermione stood there, just staring out the window. The rain was coming down with such intensity that she felt sorry for anyone who had to go out there in it. The view of the lake and the mountainous plains from this window was extraordinary, the picturesque scene’s gorgeousness only heightened by the pouring water droplets. Everything seemed to have a blue tint to it. But not just any blue. One that she knew she had seen sparkle with excitement, and cloud with anger, and darken in fear, and twinkle in laughter. A blue she knew she loved. Funny thing is, she could remember all that about this blue, but couldn’t remember where she had seen the blue. It was on the tip of her tongue. And a color, changing shades with emotions? And loving a color? Preposterous! She was still soaking in this breathtaking view and trying to figure out the source of the blue when a towering redhead she knew all too well came into her peripheral vision.
“Hullo, Ron.”
“Hullo, ‘Mione.” He breathily answered. Oh, how strange she felt when he spoke in that voice and called her that name. Certainly wasn’t how a girl should feel around one of her best friends for five years. “What you doing?”
“Just looking outside.”
“It’s raining.”
“Oh, thank you, Ron. I was wondering why water was falling from the sky, but thanks to your superior intellect—“
“Hey!” He elbowed her softly. She laughed as she turned to face him…
There it was. Blue. That blue. It was the color of Ron’s eyes. They were glimmering playfully now.  Her laughter caught in her throat.
The blue then faded into confusion. “What’s wrong?”
She quickly turned to look outside the window again and replied, “Oh, nothing.”
“Whatever,” he sighed.
She then focused on the scene in front of her.  She slowly put her hand out the window and felt the rain pelt her palm. “I love rainy days. Most people concentrate on the inconvenience of a little water, but I always loved to just go out and dance in it. I can’t tell you how many times I had a cold the next day because of it.”
“Mum hated when Fred and George would do that. Of course, they wouldn’t just go out in the rain. They would go into the mud. One time, they tracked so much mud in that I thought she was going to hex them.”
“Well, I wouldn’t do that. I just like to look at it all. Look at it now. The color of everything is brighter. The grass greener…,” she sighed, “Rain, it makes everything just so much more beautiful.”
“Yeah….”
Hermione then turned to see how those eyes looked when it was taking in the beauty of nature. But those eyes weren’t looking outside. They were looking at her. Ron turned a bright pink and quickly looked outside. “Um, yeah. I can see that. Beautiful.” He then slowly turned back to Hermione. Those eyes, they were shining. Glowing, even.  Hermione had no idea how long they held each other’s gaze.
“Oi, Ron!” came from across the hall. Seamus’s hand was waving as if he as trying to signal someone on the other side of a quidditch pitch even though he was only about twenty-five feet away. “Ron, come ‘ere!”
Hermione watched the eyes cloud for a brief second towards Seamus then brighten with content. They then looked back towards her, and he said, “Later, Hermione,” before he ran off.
She turned back to the storm outside. The blue tint was still there. It reminded her of Ron’s glowing gaze moments before. She stood there, looking out window and wondering if the emotion behind that gaze was the same as hers.
