It's almost as if you were channeling the spirit of Freddie Young, who, I think, is the greatest cinematographer of them all.
But what's truly remarkable is that you accomplished this using a macro lens, and a 40+ year old one at that!

I understand from some friends in cinematographer circles that "old" glass is favored by many of them for some applications because it produces a different, less technically exacting, result.Β In this image you can see the effect of the element grouping on the refraction from the very bright lights that a more modern lens would have handled "better" but perhaps less emotionally.
