I remember a similarish thing happened to me also.
It was back in a boarding house at college.
I was trying to open a window for someone else and my hand goes through it, cutting my wrist badly.
I check quickly before the blood begins squirting and remove a bit of glass, and then walk downstairs quickly to find the house matron.
I had my hand folded down over my wrist so no blood had escaped and I was walking around asking people for the Matron.
When I found her and after 30 seconds of explaining (she is that type) she figures it out.
She starts screaming and janks my injured wrist towards her, opening the cut and then places a bunch of towels around it, which didn't really work.
She then ran me over to the nurses office about 200m away and the nurse reacts in the same way.
So for about 10 minutes before the surgeon arrived the two medically trained personal were running around and panicing and I was just sitting there, holding my wrist closed and telling them to calm down.
Then a very relaxed surgeon arrived who seemed to understand everything that had happened.
Whilst he operated on my arm I learnt something glorious.
His first surgery was on a cut exactly like mine and had been done by a surgeon who had had his first surgery on a cut exactly like mine.
And after he found out I wanted to go into medicine he actually taught me how to do the surgery myself as he did it.
So I got to learn medicine on myself!
And then the rest of the day off, courtesy of the now calmed nurse, and the kid who asked me to open the window took all the blame as he just panicked and hid in his room.
A shame as I play Tau so they have no good blood jokes to do.

You know how before the stick the needle in you, lab techs will usually sort of slap the inside of your elbow to make the veins show? Β I was talking with the lab technician who was drawing blood from me once, and she mentioned that sometimes, when the light hits someone's arm just right, she'll automatically reach over and start patting their veins. Β Often times right in the middle of a dinner date.

Yep, however in this case she punctured THROUGH my vein, hence the geyser of blood.

Yeah, this couldn't happen to me. Apparently, I have a subconscious fear of needles. A few months ago, I went to get my blood drawn and I happened to look over at it. At first, I just thought, "Oh, hey, blood."
ten seconds later....
"Why am i on the ground? And why are all these strange people asking me for the date?"
On the plus side, the orderlies said I made their day interesting.

It's kinda funny that in my part the docs never get blood from me.
Always when the needle is injected the blood stops flowing, so they need to make big wound with scalpel to get any blood at all.
Well, positive in one manner: i can take pretty nasty wounds without profane bleeding (like once i hit my thigh with lumber axe (the one that has wide blade and long haft) while making firewood.
Well even though the wound needed 10 sticks i only bled enough to make the thigh wet (normally the docs said i would have gone unconscious due to blood loss)7
Sorry for bad English, i'm from Finland.

Funny as ever.
Blood tests...
Not fond of them.
The needles y'see.
So life being what it is, I have to have them on a quarterly basis.
Ended up passing out during my last one.
Sudden drop in pressure or something.
Not surprised after 8+ goes on each arm.
Wasn't giving up enough that day.
.
.
Yes.
I said passed out.
Manly men don't faint.
