Description ( Better Days ~ The Goo Goo Dolls )

Made this pic for 's contest, and as my debut pic of 2010. Hope you all enjoy the 'interesting' style I tried to go for, and hope it came out good. I enjoy it, but what works for me might not be to the likings of all you viewers.

Edit for Additional Details: I tried to go for a 'sketch' effect with the picture, used a normal pic that I do, then applied layers and layers of filtering, blurring, and color blending to make it appear as a sketch. Took a couple liberties with the 'X' character model and design, but I think it adds a bit more flare to the picture as a whole. To get the cape flowing, I used an adjustment tool to bend the cape, which came on it's own separate layer, to stretch it out and then used a Warp filter to distort the edges, making it look like it's flowing.

Heh, it's actually done with GIMP, don't have the $$$ for a legal copy of Photoshop .

The whole 'sketch' effect took roughly 15-25 minutes to do, since it's a major pain.

As for the categories, I just went with what looked right, .

Well you sure did it right with the catagory Nothing worse, than stuff put into wrong catagories, digital art in traditional, and so on and so forth.

I don't know GIMP, but I know Photoshop has simular functions. I've gotten my version of Photoshop Sponsored by the school I'm currently at! Which is a big treat! I think it is possible to buy a student version, or atleast a version cheaper than the "normal" one. 80% actually. Now I perhaps sound like a Adobe Marketing Sales person But it is worth checking out. There is an option as well for people who aren't students or teachers, but for private use it is way cheaper.

In fact, people at Adobe and Autodesk make all their money on institution and company sale, thats why personal versions for us "normal" people, is cheaper.

But yea, check it out And don't buy it from a retail store, because they'll supercharge you. Just buy an activation code online or something. Should be doable in a cheaper way anyway.
