Mina took a sip of her eggnog, "Well then prepare to be disappointed, because that's exactly why I'm here," He gave an exasperated sigh, "Oh come on, it's Christmas Eve! One would think even you would crack a smile for it."

Shadow rolled his eyes, swirling the remaining wine in his glass, "I would, but there needs to be one of two things for that little miracle to happen."

"...And those are?"

He smirked, "Curiosity killed the cat you know."

"I'm a mongoose, Mr. Sarcasm."

A short laugh, "Of course. One: I'd need a lot more wine." That wasn't going to happen, Vector had single handedly wiped out most of the wine Rouge had brought up from her club within the first hour of the party, "Or two: Get them to stop being so loud."

It didn't take a genius to figure out who he meant by 'them.' Amy had swiped the mistletoe from the front door and was proceeding to chase Sonic around the room, demanding a kiss from him.

Mina laughed and shaking her head, glanced up at the ceiling.

And froze.

Mina stood there for a moment weighing the options of what was now dangling in front of her when Shadow's voice cut through;

"Honestly, if your going to have something like that as a decoration, at least honor the tradition that goes along with it. Stupid git."

Yeah... option two was definitely the safer - not to mention less embarrassing - one for her.

"How about this: you won't even have to smile, but promise me one thing and I'll go out and buy you some more wine."

He paused, eyes still on the two hedgehogs, "...Alright. What?"

"Don't look up."
