Description So this is something I don't usually do with my weapon models, but this is a case of completely changing the design of a weapon around into something that (I hope) is better. The Talon pistol was supposed to be the heavy pistol of the UES military, but now that my modelling skills have gotten a bit better since the last model I wanted to do something different and give the model a significant face lift. I've never done a revolver in 3D so I thought this would be awesome to do. A lot of inspiration for this weapon came from the Mateba Model 6 Unica revolver which was basically the basis for this design. I think it looks pretty deadly and It fits in quite well with the rest of the UES weapons. Every good sci-fi needs a cool looking 6 shooter anyway

Full Designation: FWS Talon C-50 Combat revolver
Manufacturer: Fentir Colonial Weapon Systems
Type: Auto-revolver
Introduced: 2328
Magazine capacity: 6 rounds
Firing mode: Semi-automatic
Cartridge: FWS .50 Caliber Zeus FMJ
Effective range:  300 meters
Muzzle Velocity: 1,600 ft/sec

The Talon revolver is one of the most powerful infantry weapons in the UESDC (Union of Earthheld Systems Defense Coalition), firing massive 50 caliber magnum rounds that deliver incredible force and damage to soft targets. The Talon was introduced into the Union military slightly after the start of the Empire Campaign, the Union's 9 year long counter-terrorist war against the Empire Organization. Quickly building a reputation for itself in the field for its reliability, ease of maintenance, and especially its power. As Fentir Weapon Systems' first weapon design incorporated into frontline service, the Talon has certainly given the company respect from the UES military. Able to empty its entire cylinder of 6 rounds in less than 3 seconds, the Talon is immensely effective against human targets and even in the current war against the Exohumans the weapon has proved very effective on their much stronger bodies. Although not the standard sidearm of the military and rare sight for regular infantry, spec ops personnel and officers wield the weapon much more frequently. The Talon has gone through several updates and variations over its lifetime, the most recent model being the C-50E which incorporates advanced recoil mitigating technology to help lessen the kickback from the large rounds, more efficient uplinks to a soldier's neural network, a slightly longer barrel and lighter, stronger materials in its construction. The C-50E has overtaken most of its previous variants in service and continues to serve in the UES military against the current Exohuman onslaught.

Absolutely love six shooters just a comment I want to make though - is it really feasible to have a revolver which fires high power rounds at such a high rate of fire (in terms of a revolver)? Even though there is recoil mitigation, revolvers are particularly notorious for kicking like a bull.

A great work though absolutely love it!

They are awesome aren't they? I would say it's not 100% feasible in terms of right now (recoil would probably hit you in the face if you're not careful), luckily this revolver is meant to be used by chemically augmented soldiers in power armor 300 years down the line! Haha for them i imagine it wouldn't be nearly as difficult to pull off, granted I'd still not want to fire it all day or there'd be some serious hand/arm/shoulder/everything pain for a while.

Glad you like the model though! (Oh and thanks for the watch as well

I'm also going to guess by the Halo references everywhere (your profile pic and quote) that the Talon is inspired by Destiny's Duke Mk.44? XD

I actually haven't played Destiny yet! (just never got around to picking it up) but I do want to try it out sometime in the future for sure. I mostly got the inspiration for this from the Mateba Autorevolver, this model has the same basic shape and everything. Although I will not deny that I do like my Halo references

Fair enough I have wanted to play Destiny also, but internet connections @_@ I have a few drawn guns myself, inspired mainly by Borderlands firearms

I know exactly how that feels, the lack of good internet kills any chance of playing online games And Borderlands is a good choice to be inspired by! I've recently been getting wayy more into Borderlands 2 than I thought I would

so many guns, but my younger brother plays it and has a stash full of legendary guns (mainly fighting bosses and such), so I should think about upholding my reputation as a gun nut!

Haha well there's no such thing as too many guns I say bring on more of them! I do the same thing, i've got a few guns on me all the time just in case some crazy boss shows up, having a lot of fun with the game so far. And keep that reputation going! Don't let your brother become the new champion

yes, 3DS Max is a very popular program these days. I have been hoping to get the program one day myself, although I do believe it is rather expensive

Oh its quite the expensive program for sure, but you can totally get it for free from the for autodesk website! Like if you're currently in college i'm pretty certain you still can go to their site, make a profile and download the program for exactly $0 I think it just makes you confirm the school you're going to but that's about it

I was told that during an open day at polytechnic in terms of the animation course, but since I'm between places in terms of studying, it might just have to wait

Ah well that's alright man I'm sure their free program offer isn't going anywhere for the foreseeable future or else they'd have to deal with a lot of angry students guaranteed it'll still be available when you get the chance!

The talon is now a six shooter! Cool. At least its something convenient for those modern day soldiers that still want a touch of old school. Nice and unique design. Iike it but it will need a bit more detail

Yes indeed! I thought It was a cool idea, revolvers are always awesome Ill definitely add some more detail eventually, probably when I get around to making a high poly and texturing it

side loading revolvers are obsolete...i think the more advanced right now is the mp412 rex but i'm not an expert (it collapses and loads from above)

Hmm I wouldn't say they're completely obsolete really, compared to the rex a side loading revolver would most likely be just as quick and easy to load especially for an expert or soldier, and I don't think the rex would offer any kind of massive improvement in power or anything because of its method of loading (Although I'm in no way an expert either).  I guess revolvers in general would be considered obsolete by today's standards?

Oh I don't disagree with you on that I think it's cooler as well haha although I do like both, but that side loading design can make for some cool reload animations!
