Day 3 of Vulnerable Animals Week and for the European continent I chose the Iberian Lynx with the theme ‘breeze' 💜
The Iberian Lynx (Lynx pardinus) is a wild feline endemic to the Iberian Peninsula in southwestern Europe.
This critically endangered species has been brought to the brink of extinction due to a radically decreasing food base, a serious reduction in habitat, speeding vehicles and illegal hunting. Their numbers have been the most critical in 2002, with less than 100 left in the wild. Thanks to conservation there are an now 1000 individuals in the wild.
