For the first time in forever, Kyle and I attended a con where we hadn't already made plans to bring any particular costumes, so the night before we left I was frantically going through my closet picking out things I either hadn't worn in a long time or had only worn once. It was hard to narrow it down, but one of the things I wanted to bring was my Rapunzel wedding dress. This is a very special "costume" for me, as it's my real wedding dress that I made for my Disney-themed wedding near Halloween of 2011, and this was the first time I've worn it since I got married.Tangled Ever After premiered after my wedding happened, so the front panel of the skirt is an ivory brocade rather than pink like in the short film. I've considered swapping it out, but at the same time I kinda want to leave it as-is.

I think you should keep it as-is because you look gorgeous in it and there is no need to make something that already looks perfect better. That's just me though.

As for the pink brocade being the "official" color, screw that. Maybe they saw your dress was pure white and didn't want to get in trouble for copying so they changed theirs.Β
I'm glad you kept it as is. It's beautiful. Also, since it was your legit wedding dress I think that it should stay as is. I mean, it was your wedding more than it was a cosplay event and thus it should hold a lot of meaning by itself. Rather than fretting over discrepancies in the costuming, I guess it could be thought of as a touch of originality in a literal fairy-tale wedding.Β
One thing I'm wondering is how many women can say they've worn their wedding dress more than once (trying it on doesn't count). Good on you for doing so. I find "one-time-use" things to be such a waste. And a wedding's a magical moment so I can see why you'd want to wear it again. You look beautiful in it too.

Never change your costume/wedding dress to fit someone else or canon. It's your special dress. Keep it as is. It makes it unique!
