I rarely do these kinds of characters because I'm generally not very comfortable with showing off so much skin, but I felt like I could make an exception for Nami. ^.^

Overall this costume was pretty simple, but I was pretty picky with the details. Since this is the first photo upload, here are the construction notes:

The wig is a Luthien in Pumpkin from Arda-wigs.com. I just trimmed the bangs on it; didn't need to do anything else! Nami's longer hair is my favorite part of her time-skip design.

The pants were modified from some jeans I had on-hand. I satin-stitched around the edges of the orange circles and glued them to some round belt buckles I found at a fabric warehouse. The pieces are attached with velcro so I can remove them when I wash the jeans.

The bikini top was made from scratch with broadcloth, though I had to make it twice because I wasn't happy with how I painted the first one.

Her Clima-tact is a PVC pipe cut into 3 sections, and they connect thanks to some small dowels on the inside. I used masking tape to make the dowels thick enough so they could fit snugly (originally couldn't find the perfect size, so they were really loose without the tape). I used a can of model spray paint for the pretty metallic blue color.

The belt base is made out of vinyl. Though you can't see them in this particular photo, the front buckle was modified with super sculpey to have the Berry symbol, and there are little flower-looking buttons that I also sculpted out of the same stuff. The capsule looking ones are also super sculpey, with a piece of grey vinyl around them.

Also not shown are my shoes, which I ordered online. They ended up a TON brighter than I expected (like, super neon orange), so I used Angelus paints to fix the color.

The gold bracelet was silver originally, but I painted it with some gold leaf paint.

I chose to do the New World log pose instead of the original one. The strap and base are made out of leather, and I made the domes out of small capsules (from quarter toy machines) filled with clear resin. I inserted the compass arrows after filling/curing the resin half-way first.

The tattoo was a real pain, and I actually had to edit it a bit in photoshop because it looked horrible. XD (not so much at a distance, but up close...ugh)
I chose to use a tattoo paper (the kind you can print the design on with your ink-jet printer, and it goes on like a sticker rather than with water) because I thought it would save time at the con, but it ended up being more trouble than it was worth. It was really delicate, so it ripped easily, and after lots of arm movement, the edges would peel and the design itself would crack and get wrinkly. It did ok when I tested it at home, but it decided to give me a hard time at the con (might have also been because it was really cold, and we were going outside to get to the convention center as well as get photos). I recently ordered some Mehron makeup to replace it, so I'll be doing that next time instead.

I made the earrings! They look like pearl studs in the show, but I made dangly ones instead because I think they look classy. (and more noticeable)
