when it comes to dying wigs, even though they may be synthetic, you can use the same methods as normal hair color- Using the color wheel. (you can look this up, I'm a cosmetologist) the reason the orange turned brown is because it had a lot of warmth to it, the orange neutralized some of the tones in the black dye. where as the blue was very cool, more neutral, which black already has a very blue base, causing it to turn a nice deep black color. That is also why a lot of black hair color has so much blue in it-to tone the warmth from the red or gold bases. I hope this helps! ^_^

I'll definitely try using fabric dye the next time I attempt to dye a Arda wig! I've previously used the sharpie and alcohol method, but the dye tended to rub off the fibers quite easily.

You know what, I was wondering something about your guys' wigs.....What I was wondering was:
How,.....how do you put them on?? I mean, they're all so perfectly styled and look great on the outside, so putting them on while retaining their shape must be a bit of a task. And I'd think you couldn't exactly stick bobby pins in it through the top or else it'd show on some of the wigs right?? lol So that got me thinking how do you guys put them on??? LOL

O hai thar, Aqua's hair. This is seriously neat, I want to eventually style some do's for costumes. It seems pretty hard to do, looking at how most really good looking wigs are done in pieces.

Until DA fixes the recent issue of not allowing changes to be made to submissions, here is the additional info I've been trying to add into the artist comments box:
It's been a while since I've uploaded a wig tutorial here! Part of my job at Arda is making handy tutorials for our customers, but since they're videos I usually just keep them to our Youtube channel. If you don't already keep up with the Arda-Wigs youtube, check them out here: www.youtube.com/user/ArdaWigs
This tutorial is specifically for Arda-wigs, which have heat-resistant fibers (so they can survive being boiled). Do not attempt this on wigs that are not heat-resistant!
This is the dye reference page that was mentioned in the tutorial: arda-wigs.com/blogs/tutorials/…
