For the "Longing" weekly challenge over at ImagineFX. 9 straight hours. @_@ Sketch to...this...in 9 straight hours. *dies*

Mermaids always want to be human girls, and little human girls dream of being mermaids. Wouldn't it be grand if they could switch places for a day? I always thought so. And as a child I was also terrified that adults would catch on that magic was real and put all of the enchanted creatures into zoos...

Anyway, I wanted these to be slightly "different" mermaids. They have alien eyes and weird...fin...things...coming off their elbows. They're still beautiful, though.

Reference used for the girl's face (lighting). I dug through some swimming pictures for the mermaids (mostly for hair). Image search is your friend for quick-and-dirty reference.
