Description Carbon Dragon is another in my series of melee/ranged weaponry. and is also a revisit of a very old design i felt could use an upgrade.

Carbon dragon features an extremely wide blade that can be used as a shield vs both ranged and melee asualts, of course. and also an assualt rifle centered between the outer blades.

Made in Autocad 2002.

Pretty cool design! It reminds me of Blades of Chaos in God of War.

I like this one a lot. Hm... Maybe you could add a scope on the side? The barrel is too long for conventional assault rifles. Making it a light sniper rifle though, that would work.

have you seen the FN SCAR light, Steyr AUG, or FAMAS? Long barrels on those babies.

I have seen the FAMAS, and the AUG, and their barrels are longer because they are bull-pup rifles. The clip and firing mechanisms are behind the stock, allowing a longer barrel in the same amount of space. Sorry for the delay, I was away for a while and had 500 messages to go through.

bull-pup they may be, but those are some long-ass barrels. The SCAR-Light on the other hand is a conventional rifle and it has a long barrel in most models. Long barrel doesn't really mean much. It could just be for looks. This *IS* a very stylish weapon.

I can see that. Now that I think of it, that's a REALLY big blade... Wouldn't that be a problem for the ranged part? It would weigh the barrel down a lot.

....it's a gun on a GIANT SWORD. I would think whoever is using it wouldn't really mind the weight of the barrel over the weight of the blades. ._.

I meant it would be hard to aim straight because the weight of the sword will be pressing down on the gun barrel.

Consider too, if it's made of a carbon alloy, as the name implies, it is probably much lighter than conventional metals.

No matter how light, it would still be a weight.

it would, but I think the spaces in between the barrel and blades would help with that. plus, if you have a gunblade, long-range isn't always what you're going for. If it's point-blank, who needs to aim?

Spacing doesn't help with weight, and if you are going up-close-and-personal, an assault rifle isn't the best choice.

No, but rule of cool demands it. Besides that, I can't believe I got into a logical debate over something as illogical as this.

The debate itself was the reason I kept arguing. It was fun debating against you. You can actually hold up under criticism unlike so many people I know. It was very refreshing. I actually like the piece very much.

I think the AR portion of the weapon should be colored either darker or lighter then the rest of the blades to help better discern the complicated components of the exterior of the weapon which now you can only see in the greyscale image.
