its concept is based on the fire salamander of Europe and has some resemblance to that of Charmander, thus it is the starter pokemon for the V.O.D Group

This pokemon and its evolutions role will be similar to that of the elemental monkeys in Unova, but the only difference is that this pokemon and its evolutions competes for territory and food against the native Combustile and its evolutions.
