actually perception is a triple changer (people often forget) he has a tank mode.... just being a scientist he prefers his microscope/telescope mode.
He still the lamest of the triple changers, but he is officially 1.
also if you play fall or war for cybertron. there is a DLC perceptor where he uses his tank mode as the situation not really sciencey
