Uhm, the people you see in most comment sections, aren’t commercial and do care. If nobody cared and just wanted to advertise you would see a comment section full of,
”ewww your so fat!! Go to www.weightloss.com to start your free trial today!”

Well, that doesn't apply to me. Now, I don't care about one's weight. However if that's negatively affecting one's health, that is an issue. If a qualified doctor says that you need to diet because you're unhealthy, I think body positivity can go out the window. Your health comes before your pride

Just because your fat, it doesn't mean you're unhealthy. Just because your fat, it doesn't mean your lazy. Just because you're fat, it doesn't mean you're not beautiful.
Are you projecting your grandiose delusions about your fat body onto the idea of "health", by any chance?

I used to be an raver and be a size 0
Now a size 16 from starving myself daily usually no food and tons of party pills killed my body. Now when I eat 1500 call and exercise I keep gaining weight. I would rather be healthy than thin any day

The best diet: no diet at all. Just eat when you're fucking hungry! Your body knows what's best for it. Not some biased, manipulative ad designed to make you hate yourself for just being you.

Well, I disagree.
being fat is unhealthy and ugly. It shows a weakness of character.
Being thin doesn't mean you have to starve yourself, it means you should do lots of sport. Only thin is not that pretty - but thin and fit is beautifull.

It (supposedly) means you have no willpower. And it's not entirely false. I know I would be a heck of a lot thinner if I had willpower.

I personally don't think so. Its not ugly just because you aren't attracted to people like that. And how? If you eat more chocolate then the next guy how does that make your character weak? And not every fat person is unhealthy. Now obese is unhealthy, but being chubby or fat is not.

Actually, they don't want anyone to be truly thin (and by that, I mean the diet commercials), they want us to get thinner, then fatter than ever (because that's what dieting lead to : obesity and health problems related to both obesity and bad eating habbits caused by dieting) because as long as they can keep you a yoyo dieter, they'll get money.
People like Dr. Dukan (how can this man even be a doctor?) are criminal, they don't care about health, they either care about money or your weight (clearly, Dukan has a big mental disorder when it comes to food and weight).
I'm taking Dukan as an example because his diet is a huge hit among women, even pregnant women. The thing is, it can cause cardiac arrest, kidney failure and other serious problems.
But it'll make you temporary thin.
Temporary. Because the success of a diet can only be evaluated 5 years after you ended it. And most people put the weight back on, with a little extra, because their body is prepared for the "starving mode". They eventually won't be able to lose weight anymore and suffer from obesity.
Great job, diets! It's just as bad as sitting in your bedroom doing nothing but eat deep fried potatoes crisps and chocolate.
Now, I am not fat (overweight or anything). My BMI is about 21-22 right now (and yes, I am still considered fat by some idiots which is freaking me out). I don't struggle to "keep my shape" (by the way, since I have a masculine body shape, I mean "what shape?"), I eat whatever I want but only when I am hungry (well, I admit it, sometimes I eat a bit more but what the hell?).
No restriction, no guilt.
I used to be fatter and very unhealthy. How did I lose weight and became more healthy? I ran some tests and discovered foor intolerances and also... that the drug I was taking to heal my migraines was slowly poisonning me. Yes, my "fat" had nothing to do with my health issues. Amazing? Rare? Not so much. Some people would be suprised to know how many overweight people with health issues would have them anyway if they were thin (all the people I know who have diabete are thin, it does happen to them as well) or got fat because of them.
Weight will never equel health.
If anything, I can assure you that I still have health issues, I am at risk for high blood pressure, something that is hereditary for me. I also have many problems that are usually associated with fat people such as shortness of breath when I run too much, because I was a premature baby.
I am so tired as well of those people who associate your physical appearance to your health and tell you what you should do as if they knew better than your doctors.

They don't really want you to be thin as much as they want to make you feel like shit so you buy their products and they profit. They don't care what your weight is as long as they can profit off of you. Depends on what you mean by fat to. I love all sizes unless of course you are one of the people who physically cannot move out of bed because you are so heavy.

I had a friend who's boyfriend kept trying to get her to diet on the grounds that she was "unhealthy." Lol. Yeah right. She could outrun him, as well as climb the stairs quicker. She also ate healthier than him. He didn't give a damn about her health. He just wanted a skinny girl. He ended up dumping her for a thin girl who couldn't walk across the school without loosing her breath. Health my ass.

The worst thing about commercials for "healthy" things to lose weight is that the actresses are thin and don't look like someone who could have needed to lose weight in years

No, it's not about the country's image, it's about the money. They are only in this for the money, and that's why there's such a big market on diet pills and programs and weight loss products. If anyone was really concerned about our health, or even just our image, we wouldn't have an obesity problem. But the truth is, people who aren't even really fat, just healthy and more filled in, get sucked into the idea that "those little folds of skin you see are a bad sign...getting a bit of a pouch there, sweetie?"
I know for a fact, I'm thin, but I am definitely not healthy!

Ugh, I hate it when it goes the other way, too. I'm 5'10" and I weigh about 120 pounds. Just because I naturally don't weigh much doesn't mean I'm anorexic or something! I'm perfectly healthy, and I'm stronger and in better shape than most people I know. Soo annoying when people go and say, "Ooh, you're too skinny! You need some weight!"
I'm not saying that everyone should be unhealthily under or over weight, but that everyone also has a different body type, and that means that I might not weigh as much as most people my height. I wish people could be a little more understanding of that side of it.

Thin =/= Underweight
Fat =/= Overweight
People should remember that. I'm Thin and I am at a good healthy BMI of 18.9. I have a friend who is considered 'Fat' with a BMI of 23 or so. We are both in the Healthy Weight bracket and proud! What SHOULD be prevented is being overweight or underweight, which is where your health is affected. America's weigth epidemic is purely for health reasons, because of the magnitude of people in danger due to their weight, either too big or too small. I do aknowledge that Celeb culture does influence the idea of a 'perfect' person in quite a negative way aswell, which I am against.
