"Right down the line, it’s been you and me."

It's been awhile since I had the time to spare to sit down and actually accomplish something "artistic." I can't wait until the hustle and stress of finals are over... even if it is only for a few months. ;-;

Due to one of my many gaming obsessions, a few days ago I found myself sketching the heroine from More Friends of Mineral Town: Claire, by default (though her name in my game slot is Madeline), in a romantic pose a mere breath away from her once timid and angsty, now kind and warm hearted husband, Gray. I recieved the game as a present this past Christmas - my mom even wrapped it the morning before she became the sun that smiles down on me in the sky - and I played it diligently between semesters, only to put it away after having the main character wed and start a family. It's a very addicting game, even if it is about farming. My mom always said the cows and chickens were cute. ^^ Now I find myself playing again in an attempt to see the weddings between the other villagers... almost to year four! -squee-

The background is simple; pink with a darker shade for the border. I sketched them by hand, scanned them, then outlined (in color) in Elements... my hands' aren't as steady when I ink that way, but I wanted the tone a bit less bold than my normal black ink outlines I make traditionally. I couldn't decide whether to keep them in flat colors or add shading, but eventually I chose the later so there would be a bit more depth to the picture (even though I don't care much for a lot of dark shadows and highlights). Lyrics at the top are appropriate for the scene... that and I've always been a huge ass Journey fan so I needed an excuse to include some. Besides, I kind of consider it the characters' song. XD

It's odd, in a way - what inspired me to draw this. Of course, I'm a huge fan of the series itself, and out of all the bacholers in MFoMT Gray is definately most suited for my "Maddie" (as he calls her). But it's more than that, as cheesey as it may sound. His character reminds me a lot of my own husband, and so, I decided to draw these two together for him - if only to make him smile.

And oh, btw... no Allie, Gray is not Kyo, even though he might strike a resemblance, XD
