I'm not the biggest fan of Misty, but I wanted to start with a UFO-styled anime plush doll that was recognizable, but simple enough to design clothing for. This was before I though to make Geno, and some of the techniques I learned on Misty helped make Geno much better.

Misty's been done for about a month now, but she didn't have her face until tonight. I think she's so adorable now!

I had a lot of fun putting all the little details into her clothing. She's got a simple design, but there are some places to add in some detail (the suspenders with the little gold points, the shoelaces, etc). I was able to make up some basic plushy clothing patterns that I will be using for future characters!

Funny story: when I was figuring out her shorts, I used a technique I found that said to make the front and back the same. Now this is a doll that can stand or sit, which means the dolly has a bigger bottom. Making the original set of shorts made her look like "People of WalMart" Misty... her whole plushy butt was hanging out! (All it was missing was a trashy animal-print thong or something.) So I fixed the pattern and now her shorts are much more decent!
