Hey thank you for mentioning me!
I'm glad my series inspired you to do this. This is exactly what I hoped for when I started out.I use this as an assignment in class and to date, no one came up with a result like this!

Many people can't appreciate the works of the old masters, unless they have stared or worked in it for over 15 hours. And even rare are those who love the works enough to do a remix or painting of their own

I hope you don't mind some critique?
First off, I really like the idea with the X-Wing, one of the things I have been wanting to do, postponed, but still will do
You did a fantastic job on the overgrown, organic and green aspects of the ship. In my opinion, it could have some more bruises, but other than that it is perfect.

Now on to the deeper analysis; While Böhmer is a master at painting forests, this one has very subtle lighting, I suspect it to be rather a study compared to his more known works... Essentially I would have pushed that lighting to bring the ship more into the front and to set the forest into the back. As it is, and due to the overtly use of grey it vanishes into one flat surface. And note; this is mostly due to the landscape, so I'm not blaming you, but that happens if you stick too much to any reference.

What the Hudson River school taught me is a lot about the golden hour and lighting and picking the right mood. Doing your research and pushing the values before you start such a painting is one of the most important things, or how to manipulate it so that your work shines in the best possible way. And I mean that literally; your work can be more than just painting a Star-Wars fighter into an existing landscape - because as you see, that is something (nearly) anyone can do

Keep it up,
Best,
Fantasio

Thank you )))
I did not think that my work would attract your attention.
Many thanks for your opinion, I am always glad of constructive criticism.
I hope to see your next work as soon as possible.

You are welcome.

Btw. now you are also popular as well, you can find your art printed on canvas and sold on etsy here.: www.etsy.com/de/listing/500925…

If this is your first time, I'd recommend to send them a dmca, the folks at the legal department are nice and fast and you can quickly report it over here: www.etsy.com/legal/ip/report

I'd do so asap because it is fun having theses unserious folks over at geekfind fiddle something together that looks like yours but is slightly similar just because they have to sell something and people are so silly they don't recognize the difference between their shitty montage and a really great artwork anyways
Look at this shitty remake of my rendition if you don't believe me: img.etsystatic.com/il/6fb9e0/1…
Just because I dmca'd mine down

Or this one is even funnier: scontent-frx5-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v…

this shows how desperate they really are and they need more artists pissing at them, so I hope you help to fight them.

If you are not sure what I'm talking about, I'd suggest you read through this blog post of mine: www.fantasio.info/2016/11/bewa…
Over there I documented how I stopped around 40 shops selling my renditions. I also plan on doing a follow-up post helping artists to get started to hunt these rip-off vendors down so they can close their business. I suspect many artists including top tier concept artists working for blizzard and Ubisoft have their artwork stolen and sold without permission as well besides official promotional works.

Great. Minor thought though: that wing should probably go in front of the tree. Judging from the deer, it seems the tree is at least 10-15 yards away, while the length of the wing is somewhere in the vicinity of 4-5 yards. It makes the xwing look really huge, or the tree and the deer to be bonsai-size.

Your trees are very impressive. And the composition is exceptional.
