Hey thank you for mentioning me!
I'm glad my series inspired you to do this. This is exactly what I hoped for when I started out.I use this as an assignment in class and to date, no one came up with a result like this!
Many people can't appreciate the works of the old masters, unless they have stared or worked in it for over 15 hours. And even rare are those who love the works enough to do a remix or painting of their own
I hope you don't mind some critique?
First off, I really like the idea with the X-Wing, one of the things I have been wanting to do, postponed, but still will do
You did a fantastic job on the overgrown, organic and green aspects of the ship. In my opinion, it could have some more bruises, but other than that it is perfect.
Now on to the deeper analysis; While Böhmer is a master at painting forests, this one has very subtle lighting, I suspect it to be rather a study compared to his more known works... Essentially I would have pushed that lighting to bring the ship more into the front and to set the forest into the back. As it is, and due to the overtly use of grey it vanishes into one flat surface. And note; this is mostly due to the landscape, so I'm not blaming you, but that happens if you stick too much to any reference.
What the Hudson River school taught me is a lot about the golden hour and lighting and picking the right mood. Doing your research and pushing the values before you start such a painting is one of the most important things, or how to manipulate it so that your work shines in the best possible way. And I mean that literally; your work can be more than just painting a Star-Wars fighter into an existing landscape - because as you see, that is something (nearly) anyone can do
Keep it up,
Best,
Fantasio

Many thanks for your opinion, I am always glad of constructive criticism.
I hope to see your next work as soon as possible.

Great. Minor thought though: that wing should probably go in front of the tree. Judging from the deer, it seems the tree is at least 10-15 yards away, while the length of the wing is somewhere in the vicinity of 4-5 yards. It makes the xwing look really huge, or the tree and the deer to be bonsai-size.
