One of my favourite singers/songwriters, Kate Nash.

She released her third album, 'Girl Talk', this year. It has a really cool, 90s grungey/punky feel; when she started writing it her record company wanted her to tone down the sound but Nash refused and her record company dropped her. She then released the album independently - there weren't any hit singles from the album and she didn't really do any intense promo so it only reached a modest #85 in the UK Albums Chart but in my opinion it's one of the best albums, if not THE best album, of 2013.

It's a shame that albums like 'Girl Talk', which Nash wrote entirely by herself, singing about feminism, equality, friendship and heartbreak, barely gets any recognition yet sexist bullshit like Robin Thicke (Thicke by name, thick by nature) tops the charts...oh well!

So here's my picture. I drew it from a photo I found on Google and coloured it with pencils. I can see there are a few errors here and there and a few bits I'd have liked to have done differently but I'm pretty proud of this piece! I've been working on it for quite a long time too!
