"Samael steadied the young boy by his shoulders. Those dark eyes stared up at him, straining to make out Sam's features against the darkness. They were innocent eyes that looked at him not with fear but confusion. Confusion at the betrayal of trust he would soon mete out. Damn this curse, he thought, leaning in closer. As his upper lip barely grazed the hot skin under the boy's jaw, where the artery he sought throbbed wildly, he whispered a prayer. He prayed for God to save his soul, if he had one. To forgive him for this horrible sin

He bit down into the soft flesh, his fangs sinking in easily. The boy didn't flinch as a warm torrent of red erupted into his waiting maw. It hurt, but the boy could not move away from the pain. Sam's inhuman eyes could mesmerize anyone into submission with one glance.

He drank hungrily, feeling with sadness the boy going limp in his arms. When his belly was comfortably full, he released him and backed away. For one happy moment, he thought the boy had survived. The boy just stood there for a few tense seconds. Wide, innocent eyes stared at him in horror, before he finally toppled over face first, stiff as a board."
