Blood, hate, death and chaos. Severus looked back at the legacy the Dark Lord had left, and wondered what the Headmaster would say now that the Boy Who Lived used the power of his hatred to kill. He held a broken body in his arms, thinking, 'Maybe it was too late to shower him with love. Maybe it was too little, too late.'

The boy screamed when he saw the Deatheater holding the last person who knew his parents. "Get away from him, you traitor!" he shouted, and aimed his wand at his former Professor. "You shouldn't even touch him, don't you respect the dead?! Avada - " The Unforgivable was immediately on his lips, and Severus didn't even raise his wand to defend himself, merely holding on to the bloodied werewolf.

Severus didn't answer. 'If only the boy knew. If only the boy knew the truth,' he thought sadly, even as he saw the green flash coming from the the wand's tip. He pushed aside the matted hair from Remus' face, and closed his eyes to his approaching death.
