Description

What you see is my idea for a Descendents AU focused on the villains battling each other for control of the penal colony. Following the banishment of all villains, sidekicks, and accomplices to the Isles of the Lost —a forbidden chain of islands surrounded by a magical barrier that inhibits magic and escape to the continent—, the many villains from the Disney Animated Canon have banded together into numerous factions, in an attempt to establish control over the land.

The Pirates – Masters of the Coast. This loose confederation of marauders controls the harbors and trafficking between the islands. There are two leading figures with conflicting views on how the fleets should operate: former governor John Ratcliffe and John Silver, the Cyborg. Other notable members include Captain James Bartholomew 'Hook' and Lyle Tiberius Rourke.

The Hunters – Masters of the Backwoods. They operate around the secluded and remote forested regions of the main island near the mountains, living off hunting and pastoral work, and constantly skirmishing with the Horde raiders lurking in the woods. The richest man in the community is the ranch owner Alameda Slim, who also owns the largest cattle herd in the Isles. The three most prominent hunters of the community are Gaston, William Cecil Clayton, and Percival C. McLeach

The Mob – Masters of the Downtown. They control the cramped urban centers of the Isles through an intricate system of connections, loan sharking, extortion, and shady dealings. William "Bill" Sykes is the gang's founder and first head. Prof. Padraic Ratigan acts as the gang's spymaster, using his intelligence and network of mice underlings to keep track of all operations across the Archipelago.

The Horde – A group of murderous and bloodthirsty barbarians and predators that forage the forests and constantly raid the rural communities of the main island. Their power base is the Dragon Hall —once a proper, beautiful castle, which has since fallen into a shabby, broken down form— where resides the evil fairy Maleficent. The barbarians are led by the warlord Shan Yu while the predators are led by Shere Khan, the Tiger.

The Exiled – Royals, Nobles, Wealthy and Magic-Users whose titles and powers were revoked following their exile to the Isles, yet still crave for the chance to reclaim their powers and status at the cost of those that had them banished. These would rather indulge in vain activities reminiscent of their glory days or were forced to accept the suzerainty of other stronger players in the archipelago. Among them are Prince John of England, the Queen of Hearts, Queen Grimhilde, former Judge Claude Frollo, former Lady Tremaine, Ursula, Madame Mim, Jafar, Madame Medusa, Cruella DeVil, and Yzma.

Anybody who is interested may adapt this idea into an actual story. Feel free to do with the setting as you want. But I would prefer if you followed the rules: only movies from the Disney Animated Canon (excluding those from the Package/Wartime Era) and no movies released after the year 2015.
