From the game "heavy Gear" that im still playing.. i love this game that i made doodles of it when i was in college....i finally made one decent doodle scanned it and cleaned it up in my computer last night...it was a pain believe me! this was by far the dirtiest one ive cleaned up...as you can see in comparison to the original design i have made major modifications to it added sensor arrays in different areas..and ...i added a little more armor plating and Blast reactive plating....i hope i dont get chewed by an angry fan with this...i thought it kinda looked cool scince all the basic features of a heavy gear mech is still there... oh! please fire away if you got suggestions im gonna need it before i colour this one....im planning to make this into a wallpaper...thanks and have a nice day!

I really like this alot but I cannot call it a heavy gear for so many reasons. I can list them if you want. BUT only if you want, you could have already found them.

well, it's just plain too high tech for a heavy gear... teh whole point of the machine is being dirt cheap and mass manufactured... because anything can kill them. Just pit him against the CNCS main battle tank and the thing is a fortune gone to dust.
It nevertheless looks cool.

cncs tank.... i remember those.. those things were tough! and can kill you at a distance... sometimes lasers werent effective.

Chong, I think you're all set to go...wala na akong maidadag-dag pa masyado dahil mahusay ang design ng mech na ginawa mo... nice job on cleaning the lineart too. The arm rifle is also superb. This is one heavy-duty machine!
The only thing I'm gonna do is just ask you what those wheels behind his feet are for. If they're supposed to enhance mobility (parang boosters sa armored core) okay, may purpose. Kung nag-ta-transform, ok din, pero kung walang function, or mapapalitan mo ng ibang design (such as rocket/repulsor/jet-type apparatus) maganda rin siguro. Of course, preference ko lang yun. Ang influence ko kasi more on Front Mission, Armored Core, Full Metal Panic, etc. na mecha design - usually mga anti-gravity devices gamit ng mechs dun para gumalaw eh, apart from walking/running siguro) No need to change it (alam ko ang hirap ng pag-edit ng lineart men! Grabe! Sakit minsan sa ulo!) If you feel this is its final form.
With regards to color, try using bleak colors, para ma-simulate yung tarnished or non-polished metal -kung gusto mo yung old, weathered, battle-worn look. Kung pang cel-shaded ang gusto mo, ok yung flat colors na may streaks ng white to indicate shiny parts or metallic areas sa mech. Or gusto mo naman yung vibrant para mag-stand-out yung mech mo (parang pimp-my-ride ang dating!). Nagmumurang pula na may patches ng orange or black. Or pwedeng gawan mo ng camouflage -paint one layer solid, on top of that paint streaks using a lighter tone of what you used for the first, tapos sa top layer streaks ulit na ibang kulay from the first two. Experiment.
All in all, this is an EXCELLENT piece, one that I can't wait to see in full color. Congrats men. -Mitch

wow that i might just do that! i had no idea at the time but this certainly makes me wanna do it now.hehe!...about the wheels ako kasi di rin ako agree sa idea kaya lang ganun ang specs ng heavy gear... ginagamit nila as parang motorized roller skates sometimes tingin ko hindi practical ang idea.. actually ampangit ng ulo nila lahat sila mukhang shockwave...yun ang reason kaya dinagdagan ko ng sensors kasi tirahin mo lang ang iisang mata eh wala na... rendered combat innefective na... im really anxious to do worn out paint kaya aaralin ko pah!thanks! ill get right on it as soon as i can actually excited na ako eh.....thanks bro for the suggestions i couldnt agree with you more. ^__^ oh and thanks so much for granting me the favor...much appreciated!

hehe! thank you...kaya mo rin ya-an basta practice lang ...actually mas magaling nga kayo kasi kaya nyo ang anime style pag kaya nyo na gumawa ng armor plating kahit konti ituloy mo lang pwede nang makeshift minor mech type body...basta alam mo lang yung center of gravity mo at proportions..and never to forget to not put in too much para makakalakad pa sya. and without thingsa sticking out too much hehe ano ba yan im rambling again sige na nga tititgil na ako...anyway im happy you visited..thanks so much!

No, the Sci-Fi channel is showing an ALL NEW BattleStar Galactica series. And it kicks ass!! Starbuck is now a woman, the Cylons now have human looking spies, the Cylon Raider (fighter) is no longer piloted, instead the new and awesome looking fighter is a Cylon in and of itself. Tho, the new Galactica does look cool, I wish they would have left it looking somewhat the same as the original.
A new episode will be aired tomorrow nite at 10 pm. I can't wait!!

wow!! awesome! ive read something about it on maxim i wasnt sure if it was a movie series like band of bros...or a series...having heard that from you im curious...did they start the story from the beginning or started off at the end of the last series where they finally found earth and settled there? im sorry i couldnt visit the link anymore...i almost got a worm there a minuite ago after i clicked on the link fortunately enough this comp im using is so slow i actually stopped the transfer to my cpu! hehe! me win worm defeated! i think ill just wait for the dvd copies to arrive here in the philippines...that'll be cool! thanks man!

They started the series at the very beginning, with the Cylon attack of the 12 Colonies, and all. Tho, this new series is awesome because it's not ALL ship based. The writers go back and forth from the Galacitca to a Cylon occupied Caprica. Showing the devistation of the neuclear attack the Cylons laid down on the humans.

no ish okey! besides just hearing it sparks my imagination...besides you wouldnt know if there were worms out there....me? this comp is a snail! and its old...even its virus /parasite definitions is old that's why im so sussceptible to those creeps! im glad to hear about that it wouldve been crappy if they started it from the end of the last series... im gonna have to wait for it on dvd here..thanks its on my list of must buys for next year hehe! ^__^
