Looks amazing. What is the main upper hand painter has against photoshop, do you think? And dont answer "textures", thats to simple.

Painter is a terribly program and I hesitate to recommend it to anyone. The fundamentals of the application are riddled with bugs and all the features they've added over the years have been worthless to me, as I have no interest in mimicking natural media with digital media.

However, I love the Bleed Resaturation functions which are buried deep within the bowels of the custom paintbrush editor. When properly configured, they allow you to modulate between a straight, photoshop style paintbrush, and photoshop's smudge/blur brushes. But unlike the standard smudge brush, you can adjust the Bleed and Resaturation mapping so that it only blurs perpendicular to the stroke tangent, and only on low pressure strokes. You can't do anything like that in photoshop (or couldn't last time I checked.)

However, in all my days I've not once had positive results from sharing my custom brush with people. They have all, always eagerly sat down at the tablet with my custom brush, made a couple strokes, and then recoiled in horror with no interest in ever touching it again.

So yeah. I expect you'll want to just use photoshop.

It sounds like its a classic example of a personal habits, I guess. Your reply gave some insight though. Thanks!

I just love how you went from smudged colouring to the sharper image of the pixel'ating body and smashing window glass! Great work

In the program Painter I use a brush of type "Rendered" with opacity, bleed, and inverse resaturation mapped to tablet pressure.
