I had my own imagining of what happened to Barriss after the Clone Wars. In it, she did become an Inquisitor but acted as a double agent to secretly help Jedi survivors. She was eventually found out and lost one of her arms in a duel with Darth Vader. But she survived and went into hiding...

RensKnight Great comment! I agree totally, although I don't feel like she's totally without remorse. I see her being manipulated into joining the Inquisitors through manipulation and torture, with the Emperor using her regret and sadness as a way to further push her towards the dark side.

And of course if she failed to keep using her grief for evil I am sure heβd have no problem with further torture, or with killing her if he decides sheβs no longer of use. This REALLY ought to become canon IMO. It will certainly be my headcanon now.

And of course if Bariss failed to use her grief in that manner, I am sure the Emperor would be more than willing to employ further torture, or kill her if he feels like sheβs no longer useful. This REALLY ought to become canon IMO.
