Cindy,Thank you again my friend!The initial idea was to do a matter painting and combining photo elements so I gathered motor and car engines...and used some "magic" to put the together so I would have a base to work on

Hehe,it certainly takes its time and practice!I experimented a lot before I got to have such results.Practice is the key and watching any tutorials ou can find related to this technique can help big time

Hehe,its not really difficult,you can either use photo references or just overlay textures and paint over/edit

Yes,either use texture brushes set on overlay mode or import texture photos in or composition and set the layer on overlay as well.

I used both.I painted the metal parts with a chalk brush,then applied overlay layers on it and used grunge brushes and in the end applied final texture photos set to overlay mode.

Yes,I have been using Corel Painter X for quite a long time now!But I still find photoshop more vast and with lots of options and applications that Corel lacks.My main complain about Corel products is that they have lots of bugs and are very unstable to work with.
