I've just created a Chainmail brushes pack for Photoshop. The mail parts of this character are realised entirely using these brushes. I'm happy with the result as the brushes not only saves a LOT of time, but also provide a highly detailed result.The knight is typical of the First Crusade, Norman style, bearing the Hauteville family's coat of arms on the shield, from Sicily.

tfw I draw each individual ring on mail coats (which takes forever) when photoshop users can just make a brush to do it for them
