There are recent discoveries that show it with scales, also we have avaiable other version with feathers in the game.

this does not make it completly scaly, Tyrannosaurus very much would have feathers still. Just less on the tail and hips

There is enough evidence for saying it did have feathers, including a very close relative and some ancestors that had feathers.

Just because one member of a species has something, doesn't every other member of that species has the same thing.

The Yutyrannus was a 30 foot long predator, but only weighed three thousand pounds and was located in a far less humid location than the Tyrannosaurus.

Tyrannosaurus rex was a 39-45 foot long predator that weighed around 6-8 Tons. Thats 16,000 pounds at most. All that mixed with the densely humid climate would have made the Tyrannosaurus suffocate under its own body heat if it had feathers.

Mikealosaurus In reply to BrunoCreator [2017-05-29 23:31:22 +0000 UTC]

Yutyrannus was a very primitive Tyrannosaur, and yesΒ T.rex has the possibility of having feathers, butΒ it also has the possibility of being scaly.Β

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

BrunoCreator In reply to Mikealosaurus [2017-05-30 00:07:54 +0000 UTC]

Well, why? Why would it loose its feathers?Β

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Mikealosaurus In reply to BrunoCreator [2017-05-30 00:46:02 +0000 UTC]

Well, T.rex was MUCH larger than Yutyrannus and lived in Much warmer climates, I really can not see a reason Tyrannosaurus needs feathers. Sexual Display? No, arms are to small and brightly colored feathers would ruin camouflage. Brooding Nests? Nope, definitely not. It would aid the animal more if it was scaly. I could maybe see a "wooly" Tyrannosaur occurring for Tyrannosaurs that lived far north.

Evolution doesn't always work like "If you don't use that it will disappear". It could, and it did with other animals. But if there are not any disadvantages of having feathers (or at least proto feathers) they are likely to keep them.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Mikealosaurus In reply to BrunoCreator [2017-06-01 23:18:13 +0000 UTC]

That's true, but I really do not see any advantages for an animal of that size being fuzzy. Even with the air sacs.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

BrunoCreator In reply to Mikealosaurus [2017-06-02 21:25:30 +0000 UTC]

There had been advantages, before evolving into Tyrannosaurus. It just kept it.

Majestic-Colossus In reply to tigris115 [2017-05-28 22:42:36 +0000 UTC]

I don't think so. The bulk is almost the same in both of them, the only differences are posture and perspective.

Really happy about that. Honestly, it would've been SO easy to just recycle the JP T. rex design.
