Description This is the 3D model I made of the character I designed a few months ago. Modeling is done in Maya, and then I got to try sculpting for the first time in Mudbox. It was very fun! I would like to give the character some proper textures and shading at some point, as well as a rig, but we'll see what I have time for.

You can see the concept art and description for the character here: [link]
And closeups of the head: [link]

Created in Maya and Mudbox, finished March 2013.

Thank you so much, dear! I'm still quite a noob at 3D, but I do enjoy the process, and seeing how I can make one concept work in different medias. It's fun!

No problem! I've never tried 3D modeling myself, but I assume it's pretty difficult. Probably has a darn steep learning curve, too, haha. Good luck with it though!

Thanks! It is indeed a steep learning curve, and to begin with it's all rather confusing, but it's surprising how quickly one can get the hang of things

That is nice to hear! I plan to try my hand at 3D modeling sometime in my future, so I'm glad to hear it's not too god-awful for beginners, haha.

Haha, that's great! 3D can seem somewhat intimidating to begin with, but once you just get started with the basics, and get an understanding of how things work, it's actually quite simple - not to mention a lot of fun!
