Trying out some watery backgrounds, but I think I might have made it a little too dark.......The basic backstory of this oc is that they were bullied really badly, which ended up scarring on of their eyes. For a while after the incident they refused to talk to anyone, and it took Acornpaw forever to recover. However, when they began to start talking again, the bullies feared they would be found out, so one of them decided to take action to save themselves, drowning poor Acornpaw in a lake.

Love the artwork tho! The background works really well I think, but I do agree that it's tad too dark. In the really dark parts you can't really see that much, so if I'd cut the left and bottom edge off of the canvas, I wouldn't really miss anything. (Also this is just my opinion, I'm by far no expert about this stuff)
But keep experimenting! It's good practice and practice makes perfect
