I have to say this one makes a lot more sense with relating the vegetation near the river, however even during hot droughts, as long as the river isn't dried up or at very low levels, the grass will still be lush green, I'd suggest having 3 shades of grass getting progressively less green the further from the river, as well as the trees. Also- the rocks! I suggest you should switch the gray and the dark rocks. The saturation from having water all over them is much more likely to occur and give the stone a darker look than how it currently looks.
