Description My first foray into Daz3d for reals. I still need to work on a lot of things (like hair), but for a first go I think it came out ok. Postwork done in photoshop. Enjoy

My little rant

For the past 6 months I've been living in a strange world, living and breathing everything that is Star Wars: The Old Republic. I know.... I surprised even myself. I've never been a fan of the Star Wars universe, (the original 3 movies were ok but not something I'd obsess over. And the less said about the other 3........) and the only reason I even dared subscribe to it was because I had burnt myself out with Mass Effect and I needed something to fuss over while I awaited the glorious release of Guild Wars 2. Besides, I thought since it was also an MMO, I'd get in some practise. So I went ahead and bought it, thinking in a couple weeks time GW2 will be out and I'd be over it. Well... I could not have been more wrong.

After a rocky start on the republic side with my sweet cyborg smuggler (aptly named Maqeurious....durr) I soon got tired of being the 'goody goody' and headed Empire side... then everything changed. My human sith juggernaut was so much fun to play (even though I went light side with her) and after joining a guild (Darkness Reigns) I was well on my way into many..many... MANY late or even sleepless nights. But as much as I loved my jugg, it wasn't until I got her to end game and started my Bounty Hunter that I really found my niche.

I fell in love with the Bounty Hunter and got a hard on for the chiss. Seriously, I LOVE the chiss!! The story was fun, (I prefer the Agent and Warrior though), the mechanics were more my style (I prefer ranged to melee), and I went full darkside with her, so she was a real bitch. But a clever, smartass bitch. She became my main toon and even after getting my Sith Jugg, Sith Marauder, Sith Assassin, Sith Sorcerer and Imperial Agent Sniper to level 50, it was my Bounty hunter Mercenary that was always my go to toon.

Unfortunately after all the time I played this game..and believe me it's been a lot, I've burnt myself out with that and am now taking a much needed break. But that's not to say I don't love my Merc whom I rank right up there with my Shepard/Hawke/Warden. Oh, and I never did get around to playing Guild Wars 2 as much as I wanted too, lol.

So I have to ask, with her and the Mirialan chick both branded with a giant The Giovanni Legacy on them... have you made a Giovanni? Or more importantly, is there a little fan fic I missed about it?

For a first foray, it's awesome.

This gets much Chiss love.

For the sake of my sanity, I've avoided getting Star Wars TOR - even though it's gone free to play now. Playing a Chiss sounds awesome... but I must resist the urge to bring Stessa to life on TOR. Must resist... must resist...

Oh yeah, this character looks properly awesome and dangerous

Thanks Seriously, F2P is NOT worth it. My account has gone to 'Preferred Status' now since I'm taking a break, which is one step up from f2p and even that is just... ugh. Sure you can get your toon to 50 and play the whole story, but you do so at such a disadvantage it just doesn't make it worth it. I mean, having to pay actual money to be able to hide your headgear? I don't know what bioware are thinking.

However, I'm not sorry I subscribed. I'm someone who thought I'd never ever pay a monthly price to play a game, and I did so happily for this game. For me, that's huge.

BTW, there's nothing better then seeing your character come to life. Give in...... GIVE IN.....!!

So "free" isn't worth it?

Yeah, I guess that doesn't kinda make sense does it >< Since it's free, of course it's worth it. I suppose I mean for me personally, since you can't use high end gear (and all my toons are in end game), take part in certain activities, have extremely limited options and a very low credit cap.

Otherwise, for someone who wants a taste of what it's like, of course it's worth it. At least you don't have to waste the money if you decide you don't like it after all.

Well the only thing I've tasted so far is a ridiculously slow download. Damnit, Bioware! I have broadband! It should not take all day to download TOR!

Ahh yes, the famous slow download. It took me ages too. I remember after 1 of the weekly patch updates, I had to download the whole game all over again :/ Not fun.

Sweet! I play as well...mercs are the best, all the way, though I'm working on my own Sith Jugg (fem Sith LS - for Quinn, y'know) and I have a whole 3-generation legacy I'm working on...x_x Guess at some point I should make a Chiss, if only for funsies. Awesome work!

Thanks

The sith jugg is by far my top story in the game. I hope you're liking it so far. And Quinn.... oh my! he got my spuds boiling, that's for sure... however .. I won't spoil it lol. He and Vector are my fav LI's in the game.

I'm excited to see Vector's romance...I've already spoiled the both of them (and Torian, and Andronikos ) for myself on YouTube, but I'm excited anyway. Favorite part of Warrior storyline so far has been the Tatooine mission with the reflection in the oasis. Even with a Sith pureblood going LS, she smacked that monster down. Felt so very vindicated.

Haha, so you know what happens with Quinn then, lol. I can't believe I didnt see it coming, I'm usually pretty good at spotting things like that. Vectors romance was my favorite by far. I love his black eyes, but when he came out with his human eyes.... hawt damn!! Quinn and vector are my two favs.

I couldn't get excited about Andronokos to be honest. I think it was more the fact that I found the Sith inquisitor storyline kinda boring. And as for Torian, even though I thought he was awesome, and I loved his voice (no matter how hard it was to NOT picture Ichigo), I was disappointed in his romance. It just happened so quickly and was over just as quickly.

Understandable, but at least for Torian they're following Karen Traviss's portrayal of Mando culture, and not lies from Lucas. I think it's fairly accurate for the culture, too...I remember reading in one of the Republic Commando books that marriage for Mandalorians can be as much a business arrangement as for love. That's why the Mando vows are one together, one apart, sharing all, and raising warriors. But I'm still looking forward to Quinn and Vectoooooor...I was so happy to see that vid where he comes to see Agent and he didn't have Joiner eyes.... 8]

Ahh, well that makes a bit more sense with Torian. I have to admit, I don't really no anything about the Star Wars universe and lore and such but that kinda answers that. I'll have to look it up on wookipeedia. I actually really liked the mandalorian side of the bounty hunter story

The mando'ade are amazing. I actually highly recommend Traviss's Republic Commando series...she effectively built all of Mandalorian culture just for those books, and her website has an entire glossary of the Mandalorian language. Some of Torian's battlecries ("Oya!" and "Gaa'tayl!") are Mando'a.

nice piece ^^
she looks very cool
to bad you have to pay for SWTOR (or opt on playing free-to-play and have restrictions ) else I would've bought it myself
anyway, good to hear from you again ^-^

Also - I played the beta. Preferred the Bounty Hunter as well, though didn't get very far due to it being the beta

Yeah, I got bored and burnt out with the whole MMO thing. I actually went and bought the DA Ultimate Pack from Origin and played through that. I'd forgotten how much I love Dragon Age, lol. I'm in the middle of DA2 at the moment, but I'm taking it slowly. I'll start in on the Mass Effect trilogy soon too.

I think I want to try and make my Shep/Hawke/Warden too.

xD

Well, the novelty wore off in GW2 after friends not being online at the same time.

Also, it's kinda funny, where the ME3 MP is like SP, except without squadmates, and there's no pause or savegame
