Description Yes, Saren Arterius.

I admit it, I felt sorry for him at the end of the game. On Virmire you saw a little bit of his hesitation, (very little), and at the end he even admits that he was having second thoughts. When he killed himself he was redeemed in my eyes.

And then Sovereign goes and manipulates his dead body... GRR! Bastard!

I know Saren has his reasons for hating humans. He even killed Nihlus even though he wasn't indoctrinated yet. I haven't read the book, but I have read stuff online, but still... this was a sad moment, for me! Of course, this is my own opinion

I dunno, I guess I've always liked the bad boys

I felt sorry for him too. You know, even though he tried to kill my femshep and destroy the galaxy. Actually though, he was indoctrinated long before the events in Mass Effect took place. I remember reading about it in one of the comic book series they produced about the game.

When I talked him and the Illusive Man (Jack Harper) into killing themselves, I like to think they died long, LONG before that, and this is the last shred of their souls fighting back.

It does suck nonetheless.

I did feel bad for Saren, but I have to admit the firs thought that popped into mind when he pulled the trigger was "Yay! I talked him to death!"

I'm a terrible person.

Indoctrination really sucks. It turns allies into enemies.

I love the Asari from Mass Effect. When Matriarch Benezia died, I was like, “NOOOO! Curse you, Saren and your Reaper ship!” before I found out that it was not a Reaper ship, it was an actual Reaper!

It was also sad for me to see him commit suicide.
Saren was a legend.

I no, right! I was told to read the first book in the Mass Effect series, (Revelation) and it would change my mind about Saren. Well, I did. Granted, in the book Saren is a cold, calculated, heartless, doesn't care about anything but the job, ruthless bastard.... BUT, I still really liked him. Even after he killed all those innocent people I still loved him. If you haven't read it, do! It's really good, and lets you see Saren for who he really is.

I love Saren, man. xDD The book is what made me sympathize so much with him. :3 I used to hate him but. You can see how he means a good thing in the end. >_> I wish that people would understand him more... I mean, sure. He's a cold, mean bastard, but he has a reason for it all.

Funny. I was told the same thing by my friend (who grew concerned over my going fangirl about Saren) and came to the same conclusions. I could see his reasoning behind everything--don't get found out, use the most efficient and readily available methods, etc. etc.--except maybe the part about Jella. Even then, i thought that "dead batarians don't talk" was sufficient justification, though personally i would have dealt a softer death.

The moment that clinched it for me was the "my mind is still my own...for now" on Virmire. I mean, damn. He's knowingly sacrificing his sanity to save everyone else and actually takes the time to try to make Shepard see (his version of) reason. I loved him like crazy after that.

Nice work. I don't hate and Saren and I do feel sorry for him. I mean he was a hero who tried to help the Galaxy in the way he saw that was possible, but in the end succumbed to indoctrination. Glad I was able to give him peace.

Yes, I'm glad he saw sense in the end, even if it meant he took his own life for it.

Oh god.... I felt so sad for Saren in this moment. He may have had bad intentions, but they were misguided intentions too. And for that to have led to his act of suicide (in my game at least) was devestating.

Yes, thank you! I was horrified that he took his own life, and saddened beyond belief. I would of taken him in and helped him if he wanted it! He could have joined my team.

I still did feel so sad for him at that moment, and I wanted to shoot something -oh wait I already did!- when sovereign indoctrinated his body

maqeurious In reply to Rana-E [2010-11-14 02:04:45 +0000 UTC]

LadyofNemesis [2010-11-12 18:42:27 +0000 UTC]

I felt sorry for him as well
on Virmire (after sacraficing either Kaiden or Ashley) I was like...**** you Sovereign!
and everytime I play that part I want to go on a killing spree

usually at the end I always feel like crying...dunno why, maybe I'm just sensitive like that
I like these pictures ^^ they're quite good and bring out the feelings some of us have for the characters

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

maqeurious In reply to LadyofNemesis [2010-11-12 18:46:53 +0000 UTC]

Thanks very much. I wasn't expecting anyone to actually feel the way I did about Saren, I mean he was a prick in game for what he did. But in the end he was just doing what he thought was the right thing, and then got indoctrinated and it was all over for him.

I'm just installing ME2 now so will start doing pictures for that come tomorrow. Not looking forward to it actually, I don't want any of my characters to die!!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LadyofNemesis In reply to maqeurious [2010-11-12 18:51:03 +0000 UTC]

You're most welcome ^^
the only part I really hated Saren was when he killed Nihlus, I liked Nihlus
somehow always when there's a character that I like(wheter it be game, movie or whatever) they decide to kill them of

I always feel sorry for killing Ashley or Kaidan on Virmire...why isn't there an option to sacrifice someone else?

ME2 is quite good as well ^^
it sure is sad many characters die, but if you do things correctly you might prevent the dead of many of them
I've finished both games 4 times already, and the game get's to me every time

I'm so looking forward to ME3, I wish they had more info about it already

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

maqeurious In reply to LadyofNemesis [2010-11-12 18:59:59 +0000 UTC]

Yes, the death of Nihlus is the only thing I can't forgive him for. He did that as himself, not a 'puppet'. Naughty Saren!

I've played ME1 and 2 about 10 times now and even though it's been that much I still get swept up in the whole thing. I've always managed to keep my team alive through the suicide mission but for the purpose of these pics I was thinking I might let some of them die. But.... I really don't want to. If any of my team dies I just know I'll feel dead inside!!

2012 seems like an eternity away and I wish it would just hurry up! I want ME3 soooo bad lol! I'm hoping that when Dragon Age 2 comes out they'll include some info (hopefully a release date) on ME3. They did that when Me2 came out for DA2. Does that make sense??? lol.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LadyofNemesis In reply to maqeurious [2010-11-12 19:51:09 +0000 UTC]

You can always make a picture of the Collector's general, he's kinda a puppet to

and yeah...they really need to hurry up with ME3, I'm so thrilled for it
I just want to know if I can get back to some of the old characters
I think that at least Tali and Garrus come back for this game to(except if they died in ME2 of course) and of course Joker ^^
I've got so many wishes for the last game, I want my Mako back...I want to go to Earth(hey why not?), I want to get back with Kaidan/Ashley/Liara(though so far it's only been Kaidan in my case), and of course one big grand space battle with big kick ass guns.

it does make sense...sort of ^^
I'm also really looking forward to DA2, I wonder who is going to voice Hawke(I just hope they pick someone different for male Hawke then the one they used for male Shephard...he sounds so damn monotone)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

maqeurious In reply to LadyofNemesis [2010-11-13 02:48:50 +0000 UTC]

Yes and Yes!! I too felt compassion for the Collector General after Harbinger released control of him at the end and he was like... 'WTF is going on here??'.. Yep, the poor bastard!

Hopefully in ME3 we get to keep most of our crew, I've grown attached to all of them.. even Jacob for the comic release lol!

The mako! Man, on the xbox it's hard as hell to command, but on the PC!! It's a nightmare lol! I can just see the epic space battle we're going to have and I can't wait! I reckon we'll go to Earth, Palaven, Kahje or Rakhana, the Quarian homeworld and anywhere else to recruit other races against the Reapers. And yeah, I'd like to see a resolve to the ME1 romance.

I agree the voice for male shep is so monotone, that's one of the reasons why I don't like playing him lol.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LadyofNemesis In reply to maqeurious [2010-11-13 11:10:52 +0000 UTC]

always when I play with the Mako I pretend the characters in it get carsick
I think it's a lot of fun to play with it...I sure have been cursing a lot when I first played it

I really love all the characters, and I'm in on your opinion on going to all the homeworlds of the aliens.
also...we need more ladies, so far the only woman aliens we've seen are the Asari(only female so no big deal anyway) and the quarians.
keeps me wondering what the Turians, Salarians and Krogan woman look like

only...I hope Joker will do the flying, I'm really bad at flying spaceships

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

maqeurious In reply to LadyofNemesis [2010-11-13 12:51:27 +0000 UTC]

LOL, the way I drive the mako i'm surprised none of my team have servere head trauma! I can't wait to see some females aliens too, I'm sure they'll put some in there. I'm thinking maybe Garrus mother or sister at least, only because of what the dossier said in the LoTSB. Hopefully
