Description
In my RPG there was back in the 1940's a government-sponsored superhero known as "Power Patriot" (=Captain America), who retired a few years after WWII when he refused to become a propaganda tool of the government, especially when McCarthy showed up. Years later, the government was losing support due to the Vietnam War and other events of the 1960's, so they decided to get a replacement for Power Patriot for propaganda purposes. The man they chose was bitter over having been too young to enlist in Korea and too old to enlist in Vietnam. Also, he really hated Communism. Things worked out swell for a while, with the new Power Patriot performing well on the field. Unfortunately he found the government's stance in the Cold War to be too cowardly for his liking, and concluded that the American government must have been hijacked by Communists. Ever since then he has waged a personal war against anything related to government, in the hopes of eradicating any traces of Communism he might find.
