Tried making him as realistic as possible while keeping my trademark mouth line. He's completely human. Before everything related to the cartoon, when he was simply Julian. Or better yet, freshly graduated doctor.This was also my first anatomy study for his head, so that's why he doesn't look as fat. The grey eyes was me trying to give him a rare color but wasn't sure which as I wanted it to fit him but also keep it realistic. So, cold steel grey for his machines.

I'd actually have given him ordinary eyes, and had him act like a self-righteous savior who took nature red in tooth and claw way too seriously and believed a synthetic world inhabited by robots is fairer, devoid of suffering and more peaceful. He'd by inspired by antinatalist groups like vhemt, but not because he loved nature, but because he sought to industrialize earth.

Oh my! Now, I've seen realistic attempts at Dr. Robotnik before (and in one case, one attempt by Sega to make Dr. Eggman look realistic...you know what I'm talking about I'm sure) but this looks great ^____^

I didn't mean it to be sexy, but I guess I'd be creaming myself too over it if it was from someone else. I always degrade my own art. Unless it's something that I put a lot of effort on so I feel I gave it my best. Looking at this one I start thinking how I've been drawing the distance between eyes and mouth (or nose length)too long and that his head is slightly bowed forward yet the eyes shape are straight ahead.

Aw, come on! You did some great work here!! But I know what you mean. You're always your worst critic. Every time I make a new batch of bread (that my husband devours) I ALWAYS come up with some reason why it's not the best. But he likes it, so I'm doing something right.

I find the way you draw jawlines is your trademark.

Because I'm not just drawing a flat face. I'm wrapping it around the skull and each character has it different, so I make those differences apparent. Unless they're generic people I don't draw two characters the same.
With Julian, specially, I made his mouth shape to make it an unique trademark of mine. :3 But I still really am following the curve of his huge jaw and teeth. I always draw his skull first.
