He was trying to sweet talk her? Your sure? Didn't get that till I looked through the comments. He's being an ass to her either way of course but if he honestly doesn't care about throwing away romantic possibilities with her and anyone she talks to I guess its more diarrhea of the mouth honest. If he actually wanted to be with her then that would represent a major logic failure.

Heh eligible. What was he watching before that conversation to come up with a word like that? A discussion between two aristocrats on pbs? Makes it sound like Becca is rich.

Haha he wasn't REALLY trying to sweet talk her, I was being sarcastic. Oh gosh. I really hope he wasn't trying to...lol And I don't know where 'eligible' came from, but we looked it up to see what other things he could have meant by it and this was what came up: fit or proper to be chosen; worthy of choice; desirable. Hopefully he'll think next time xD

Lol, hopefully.

Traditionally, if someone said that it meant the bachelor/maiden was the one most likely to increase one's (or one's family's) station either through social/business connections, assets or both. I guess it is seeing some use in reality shows hawking bachelors/bachelorette's these days which might be confusing how people view the term.

But your probably right he was most likely misusing the term to mean attractive as idiotic as that sounds. No, I don't know why this is interesting me so much.

Maybe its like the comedian Lewis Black when he overheard someone in passing say, "If it wasn't for my horse I never would have graduated from college." Which his mind then wouldn't let go and he swears is still going around in circles in his subconscious with all the other unsolvable mysteries slowly causing brain tumors!

Thanks for helping me pass the time while I wait to see the results for the Cute Monsters contest. Gives me something to do when I come back to check the site.
