Description I thought, since people seem to like my "Predicitons" so very much, that I would cover an issue that has been on my mind.

Phineas and Ferb has been on the air since I was in year 6 and now I am in year 12. It has had more than 100 episodes. It has earned it's name as one of the greatest cartoons I have had the pleasure of watching. It needs to end.

Firstly, I say this not becuase I dislike the show. Infact, I say it should end becuase I do not want to see it go the way of the simpsons, family guy and spongebob. It's better to be remebered as short but sweet than to drag on as crud forever. It has had good episodes, like "'Swinter", and "Happy birthday, Isabella", but in the more recent years the quality has declined. Take, if you will, "Just desserts:" although the episode had a rather funny scene with perry and doof jumping about like someone just injected smack into their eyes, it was, for the most part, a snooze-fest. First of all, the "Big Idea" (such named only so you could classify it, I don't think it was that cool) just had to be edible for it to work. The birds were chosen to remove it, since doof getting rid of the ideas has been done to death, but this could only work if it was edible. Secondly, it was a rock-climbing wall. Seriosly? A freaking rock-climbing wall? I've dreamed cooler things. And it's not alone, many of the new ideas, more often P and F's than D's, have been dull as dirt. "Just our luck" had sky tennis, and "Sleepwalk surprise" had jetpack volleyball. What's the diffrence? They're pretty much the same. Hockey Z-9 and Football X-7. Seriosly? How did no-one notice that? And don't get me started on the abismal "pyramid sports", which never amounted to a conclusion in the episode. It just got referenced at some point, like they forgot about it.

And you know what else? Jeremy Johnson is a pointless charecter. Ever since he and candace have got together, every episode between them has been crap. We already know how it will end, we saw the Johnson family 20 years in the future. They get married, they have three kids, they live happily ever after, end of. Anything between them has a forgone conclusion, so it's pointless to worry about "will they, won't they?" anymore. And Jeremy, much like Isabella, only works as an interesting character if you don't know they will end up with their crush.

And on the subject of Isabella, can we just get it over with? It's fun to watch her squirm and all, but come on, it's been several years of this, and it's slowly getting predictable. It could for a few more years and still be fun, but I can sense the light at the end of this tunnel coming. This is more of a small concern, but at this point Isabella is one of the few characters who can carry the show, with just her, Phineas, and a picnic that goes wrong. If she loses her audience retaining mojo, the show is in for some dark times.

Finally, my main concern is a little more to do with my upbringing as a watcher of english tv shows, which can have about 2 seasons with six episodes each, on average. Hell, Blackadder had 4 seasons and two specials, at six eps a season and we're still watching it today becuase it is truely hard to match in quality. So I guess my question to you is this: Is it better to continue the name-brand at the price of quality, or say to Phineas and Ferb, "Look guys, what you've acomplished is, compared to other shows, outstanding. You've earned an amazing name with kids, teens and even parents. But time comes for everything that is mortal. It's time to count your victories, take home your trophy and die peacefully, before you have a tube stuck in your neck to help you breath, so that the corporations can make as much money of a slowly dieing cow as possible before everyone hates the living daylights out of you."

Oh, and one last thing. On the wiki page for phineas and ferb, there is an episode that has yet to aquire any further detail than a name. It is called "Save summer."

I couldn't think of a better name for the last episode of PnF if I tried.

Just a thought.

Personally I don't think the quality of the show declined at all. You are right that their have been some bad episodes during the show's run but they didn't hurt the quality of the show at all. To me most of my least favorites of the show comes from seasons 2 and 3. There are also only 2 episodes from season 4 but for the most part my least favorits come from seasons 2 and 3.

I also disagree with you about Just Desserts. I thought it was a great episode. Phineas and Ferb's Rock climbing wall was cool and Perry and Doof's antics were funny. It is probably one of my favorite episodes of the season.

I really don't see the difference between sky tennis or jetpack volley ball mostly because they are different sports. And the thing about Hockey Z-9 is that it is a homage and inspired by Football X-7. That was the point. They knew that and wrote it in the way that it did not feel like a rehash amd again, it did not see any simularities between the two. Juat like how S'Fall was a homage and inspired by Swinter and how the shrinking machine in Hide and Seek was inspired by the shrinking submarine in Journey to the Center of Candace.

I also disagree about what you said about Jeremy and Isabella. For Jeremy, I don't see him as a pointless character. He had a lot of character development as the show went on and heck in Season 4 we got some character development from his father being working at a space center. As for 20 years in the future, remember the phrase "we can't change the pastbbutwe can change the future."

As for Isabella, judging how people are excited for Act Your Age, I don't think they will ever get tired of her anytime soon. Plus that Picnic episode you mentioned yes she did fail at first but at the end of the episode she did get what she wanted at the end regardless. Granted the episode was in Polish and I do hope to hear the English version of it soon when it airs, but I still understood what happened in it despite me not understanding the language. But that besides the point. This is a part of Isabella's character and people who like that character want to see her grow as a character and that is why people want her to succeed. To me, Isabella's crush on Phineas is both her strength and weakness and I want to see her overcome it in the end. Maybe Act Your Age might solve that once and for all, or maybe not. Either way I will still watch and see what happens.

About the length of Television. Do remember that we had many cartoons that went up to 5 or 6 seasons and for the most part their quality hasn't dropped on the slightest. Adventure Time just finished their fifth season and will air their sixth soon and most still think it is going strong. Friendship is magic is getting a fifth and still going strong. And another example was Ed, Edd and Eddy which lasted 6 seasons and people still enjoy it to this day.

Also Robert Hughes who works on the show as a director said on twitter that Save Summer is not the last episode of the show. It is the first of 5 one hour specials that is coming later this year and next year. The Star Wars crossover that is airing this year will also be one of the specials as well.

Swampy said that the show will be on hiatus after they finish with season 4 and when that hiatus begins, they are planning for what is to follow. twitter.com/mmonogram/status/4…

In conclusion, I don't think the show has dropped quality at all nor do I think it has entered seasonal rot. I also don't think that it has entered Simpsons or SpongeBob levels of quality in the slightest. It does have its share of bad episodes but the same can be said about other good cartoons. I am one of a few people that does think that Pnf deserves a fifth season. If it doesn't that is fine as well. Whatever happens I think we can all agree that we do want to see the show end on a happy note. But for me, I do want to see it last longer as much as possible before the end of the series comes.

Well, firstly let me say that I appreciate your prompt feedback, but there are a few sections of your counter-argument that I don't really follow:

Firstly, I think it is a mistake to say that most of the bad episodes come from seasons 2 and 3, considering that most of season 4 has yet to air, or even have suffucient information released to make a value judgement.

Secondly, I'll admit that the quality "Just desserts" is more a matter of opinion, I just found it to be a rather weak episode that had a far too "conveiniant" ending.

About the "homage" as you phrased it, I do see that this was the point, but there are only so many times you can do homages of previous episodes before it looks like you are scrapping the bottom of the idea barrel. One of the fundamental problems with the setting of "boys who make over-the-top things" is that eventually you hit the point where good ideas are rare, and shows begin to deploy guest stars and other tools of the trade to keep the newer episodes interesting. As for the Sky tennis-Jetpack volleyball thing, it was less about the individual sports and more "Sport... but with flying!" (or with other abstract things, such as pyramid sports) as the episode idea. It's an example of ideas getting less abstract and more "desperate". Also, I hadn't actually thought about the two episodes with shrinking having much in common, as for one it was to help recover somthing from inside someone, and the other was too explore a giant world in the easiest possible way: by making the normal world bigger.

I'ma be honest, I dont understand what you meant with "we can't change the past but we can change the future." Are you saying that they'll change the good outcome to a bad one? 'cuase that particular phrasing sounds more like somthing you would say about an "evil-future-time-travel-messing-up" dealeo. I must have missed the whole thing about Jeremy's dad; that's news to me.

So, Isabella: after "Act your age" (let's just not worry about "during" for the moment), what do you think they'll do with her? Will she begin a relationship at age 11 with Phineas? (of all the possible outcomes, that is the one I would most preffer) Will Phineas even find out? Will he date her or turn her down? (It could happen...) And if they don't date post/during act your age, what will happen in it? Many questions swirl around this topic like flies around a dying whale, but the episode will either deal with the issue or not be what the fanbase wants. It's a tricky balance to get right, and there are many ways the fans could get upset or the charecters could change for the worse. For the show's sake, let's hope the writers get it right. But Isabella will either change for the coming seasons or remain the same old character. In my experience, the "crush" character in any good show is the one who reaches the final stage of character development nearest the end of the show, becuase the actual relationship is less interesting then the comencement of it, and clearly defining how it will go with Phineas and Isabella limits the creativity of the fanbase in post-show times, as the have to work within the confinement of the show's creator's ideas. Sorry, I found that hard to phrase, and I may have to explain further.

As for the shows you mentioned, I cannot comment on MLP as I have never watched it, but in the case of Edd, Ed and Eddy, it isn't on the airwaves in england anymore, so I assumed it had lost popularity. I will admit though, Adventure Time earns it's name as a better cartoon than PnF. It has a much richer story to tell in a far more abstract world, and it amasses more fans than PnF becuase of it. Hell, my dad is a fan of adventure time.

Oh, and regarding the various things that have been sadi by the show's creators, I am less informed about this than most as I do not have accounts on most social networks, and cannot keep up with them as a result. My bad.

Finally, I don't think the show has majorly fallen in quality, yet, but it shows the signs. It certainly could last for at least a few more seasons, and have many worthwhile episodes, but I don't want to see it last "as long as possible", as I and one of a few people who believes that a star shines all the brighter for it's brevity.

Man, that took a while to type. Sorry if I missed anything.
