Description
That memory persists and lingers,
Though I am somber,
When we smelled Yarrow through my fingers,
Plenty of sorrows, dying winters.
Mistress calls, misery's warmonger,
She saunters, beckons her herd of pain
They lumber, hooves mauls my brain dumber,
In bed, I lay slain;
The plague bringer reigns.
This piece was developed during one of the cold spells we had early this year. My sinus was acting up, and feeling miserable. I had been helping my wife study for some microbiology exams, in between I willed myself to put all the feelings and images of disease into this.
