OK, so there's this phobia called trypaphobia, right - a fear of holes - which is usually caused by a disturbing feeling when looking at images that depict clusters of holes where they shouldn't be, such as on human skin. The structures that you see on the left side of the artwork are actually known as lotus flowers and are the main cause of this phobia. It doesn't help that people usually photoshop this flower onto human skin. I personally don't have such an irrational fear, but it does exist.
