Thoughts and Comments about Round 1 and Jubilee-OCT

Finally finished with my Round 1 for Jubilee OCT, and i gotta say im very proud of the final product
I found it incredibly interesting that this OCT has more of a freefor all feeling to it rather than a 1v1 round that ive done plenty of in the past. I definietly feel more inspired to give it my all in these entries, not that im not inspired enough already but you get the idea

So in this round we were given the task to retrieve these antlers for a statue and have our characters defend that statue once they had all the pieces they needed, with a limited amount of antlers to go around i assume i dont remember if it was ever explicitly stated but with that min mind it has a bit of a tense feeling behind the whole round.
Additionally we were also given three other participants to include in our rounds how we see fit that acted as our characters partners during the round (however our partners involvement in the results of our own round was meaningless to our final scores, they were just as much competition that facing another team)
And the limitations placed on this round were restrictions to allowing two pokemon per character, so we had to choose from our selevtion of (mostly) 6 pokemon and select which of them would be most useful for our characters to carry out this task!

Overall i found this first round to be a refreshing and exciting start to a new flavor of OCts than i had experienced with in the past, it allowed creativity to flourish in multiple forms of entries from either comic or splash pages, it granted you control of other peoples OCs without interfering on your partners rounds, the restrictions placed on each participants characters forced us to be more creative with how they approach the round, and having a round that was not against one single person per say kept me fully invested in this round and i look forward to the rest of the OCT should i make it past this first round >>Fingers Crossed<<

And an additional plus to this OCT i feel i have to mention too is the incredible Community ive had the pleasure of being a part of. Never before in my experience with an OCT have i felt a community so friendly with each other with both supportive participants and incredibly helpful staff. Questions are answered quickly and efficiently, and there is a support in this community i havent found anywhere else in my previous experiences equal to each other given by both the staff and participants. They granted an additional 2 weeks to account for anyone affected by the natural disasters like Hurricane Irma, or the Fires in California, or Earthquakes in mexico or another disaster thats escaping me at this moment. I was even personally contacted from the staff to check up on me to see if i was ok (im sure every participant was as well, and although i dont live in an area affectedd by the events of this last month i appreciated the care and concern given to me)

For this round i was paired up with Avery Hooper Eeeviee 's OC , Mattie Irwin Stolen-sharks 's OC, and Aidan Trainer48 's OC
Each of which had amazing characters with well thought out backstories and a wonderful selection of pokemon with fun personalities to play with

ANYWAYS ENOUGH OF THAT LETS GET TO THE ROUND TO SEE WTF IS GOING ON

So unlike previous Splash page OCT rounds ive had before Like NOCT for example, i decided to have a more Adventure-like story telling aspect to this round, focusing less on actual pokemon battles until a climactic point in the entry and more on exploring the characters personality

PANEL 1: The Meetup
With the train station exit in the background Team Brown unites after being given the task of retrieving these Antlers, With the dream team of Wesley, Mattie, Aidan, and Avery (from left to right)
And to warm up and help combat the cold environment Wesley sends out his Castform Breezy and has it use Sunny Day, and as a result the snow around the four of them dries up

The four of them discuss a plan on how to obtain these four antlers they need, as not all of them have to retrieve one themselves they just have to have 4 by the end of the round total

I have this Picture in my head that this Ex-criminal Mattie would rather make his way straight to the statue and try to steal the antlers off other participants statues, also tying into the fact that hes kinda antisocialhed probably not want to deal with his own teamates

On the other hand i feel like Avery Hooper would full on take advantage of this social outcast and being the social butterfly she is would tag along with him in hopes they might find an antler for themselves

Leaving Wesley and Aidan the task of hunting down any remaining antlers

PANEL 2: Travelling into the Forest
Wesley and Aidan travel into the Forest in search of the Checkpoints hidden in the trees, with no luck unfortunately, and instead come across a pack of Snover carrying exactly what the two have been searching for. Instead of clearing out a small herd of these weak pokemon easily they decide it could be a better to follow them in hopes of finding more, but making sure to take into consideration the warning they received about an Angry abomasnow in the Area

PANEL 3: Spotting the Cave From above
Wesley and Aidan find out where the crowd of snover were headed and the two of them discuss a plan thinking to themselves they are fully capable of taking down the abomasnow and snover and so the two of them prepare to go on the offensive. And on top of that Wesley springs an idea that they could use to their advantage thanks to this encounter regardless of the outcome

PANEL 4: WE FUCKED UP
Abort Mission Abort Mission!!! Wesley and Aidan got what they came for but it looks like they bit off more than they can chew with this encounter and a raging abomasnow defends its herd of snover from...another Abomasnow?
The two of them make a hasty retreat away from the Abomasnow and towards the Xereneas Statue their other teamates went to

PANEL 5: None the wiser
Team Brown Reunites and works together to scare all the other participants nearby accidentally dropping their own antlers out of sheer terror from this raging "abomasnow"
Wesley found an oppurtinity to take advantage of their encounter with that wild Abomasnow from Before! Using D.D. the Ditto transformed as that very abomasnow they are able to use its size and terror to their advantage!

Wesley and Mattie Snatch two dropped Antlers from two unsuspecting participants using Mattie's two pyukumukus stretchy innards
Aidan and his Scizor are plenty intimidating themselves and all they need to focus on is making sure they arent flanked by anyone stupid enough to approach their statue during an abomosnows rampage
Leaving Avery and her espeon to easily snatch up the final antler they need using Telekinesis
